If he were on the trade market, I'm not sure we'd have the ammo to win a bidding war against other WR needy teams. I could be wrong, but that's the feeling I get. Yes, balls tingling for those that are wondering lmao

Rumblings he isn't happy and very likely will ask for a trade.
Ah so they have their own so ram making shit up and throwing it against the wall to see what sticks. Never say never but I can't see any team being stupid enough to trade a good wr like him on his rookie deal. That's just idiotic.

Well, the Dallas Mavericks just trade a generation GLOBAL SUPERSTAR who is only 25.

Anything is possible.

To be CLEAR ... I AGREE with you.
I think Garrett Wilson and Sauce Gardner are terrific young players at impact positions. I would not trade them; and, I expect both to be on the Jets in 2025.

That being said, ...
These are the New York Jets ... a team with a truly clueless owner who has his hands on football matters.

They have a new front office and head coach who may not have ties to any specific players.

The Jets are in only a decent cap situation (but, releasing Davante Adams could open-up a ton of $).

They have a huge decision to make on Rodgers; and a simple pre-June release may not be an option.

Neither Wilson, nor Gardner had strong seasons in 2025; and, at different times, both seemed frustrated.
This is New York. I live here, watch every game and snap. Gardner's effort was question this year; and the Rodgers/Wilson relationship was an issue. Could be total bull-shit as the NY local media is insane.
Most likely, in my opinion, both players were frustrated with another very disappointing season.

Both Wilson and Gardner are entering the 4th and final season of their rookie deals. Both will likely (really, need to be) have their 5th-year options (as former 1st round picks) exercised. This is the time period when teams look to lock-up such players with long-term deals; and both players will be looking at $100M-plus contracts. Did I mention the owner is an idiot, and gets involved in football matters.

Just throwing-out some relevant (IMO) stuff.

For very well articulated reasons. None of which are applicable in regards to Wilson.

I mean, Luka Doncic did get traded for a bag of peanuts so I guess there's a chance.
Not so sure I'd call HOF'er AD a bag of peanuts exactly. Also, unless you watch a lot of Lakers basketball, Max Christie might just be seen as a throw in to match salaries. He took gigantic leaps in development this year and was starting. Honestly, a pretty talented kid. Not to mention the 2029 unprotected 1st rounder could be pretty nice. James will be long gone by then. Dunno.

Do I think they could have gotten a bigger bag had they shopped him around the league, absolutely. But, I wouldn't call their haul a bag of peanuts. That I'd save for what we get for Kupp.

Why would Garrett Wilson be on the market?
Well for one, he is on record stating he'll ask for a trade if Rodgers is back in 2025. Being that his 4th year in the league is coming up, he will be looking for a contract extension even when the team picks up his 5th year option.
That all being said, if the Jets were to put him on the market the price would be pretty stiff

Whatever we do at pass catcher, we could not play well against man coverage all year.

We most likely need a jump ball winner or a speed guy at WR; failing that, an A+ pass catching RB or a TE who can consistently line up at the boundary could help.

Im afraid they will not spend alot here. All your top end talent are taking highest bidders and too many team have too much money to throw around. We are more in line with 3 contract players.....age 29+. Someone chasing a ring, low cost, etc. Mack Hollins woudl be interesting but imagine he will sign back with Buffalo.

Perhaps you grab a speed back like Jeff Wilson in FA and draft a WR, TE in round 1 and find another gem on day 2 for WR and/or TE.

A good chunk of money has to be spent to keep LT Jackson, unless they roll the dice and try to draft a LT in round 1

I'd stay away from Jeff Wilson. He's extremely injury prone. We can get a back in the draft for much cheaper.

I've just read through about a dozen different articles on Wilson's reported demands. All I can find is an athletic team reporter saying Wilson told him he wouldn't stick around long term if things didn't get better.

I've yet to read anything quoting him or a video with him saying this it all seems to be alleged private conversations behind closed doors and the team supposedly worried he'll maybe possibly ask for a trade.

What I read from that Rosenblatt comment sounds like he wouldn't sign a 2nd contract with the Jets. I just haven't seen anything with him actually saying he wants a trade just that he wants the team to be better or he won't stick around long term.
