The Immaculate Exception
Probably the best World Cup thus far. Iran is getting surgical on New Zealand, great cross and pass to the box for a header.

Like a lot of the English people I know, I was really pleased to see Scotland win.
Then again, my first two World Cups that I have any significant memory of were in 1974 and 1978. And in the latter, being a Derby supporter, I was a massive Archie Gemmill fan because, at the time, he played for the Rams.
So even though they don't like us, I've always had a soft spot for Scotland.
Not soft enough that I want them to win it, for fuck's sake, but ya know, a soft spot.

Been looking forward to getting a peek at that loaded French squad and Norway with that neanderthal Haaland. Could be another good day of games.

In my lifetime from what I can remember. Yes, and I am talking about the competition of the underdog countries giving the favorites a run for their money. Now obviously if your an Italy fan then you have every right to be bitter.
