It's funny you mention Mitchell and Ness, because of all my jerseys one made by them is my absolute favorite in fit and quality. The difference is so glaring that I almost started a "Jersey Buying" thread about it. Truth is there's an enormous difference in these jerseys and some of the things I've learned the hard way:
- Number size. It's the most glaring difference you see nowadays. You can get a jersey nice and cheap on the site and all, but usually even the ones going for a hundred-ish bucks have undersized numbers. And in a very sneaky way the team has changed the graphic of the jerseys to where you don't get the one pictured (many of them have the bigger numbers on the pic).
- Stitching. The expensive jerseys have stitched numbers and names. Using my Mitchell and Ness jersey as an example, each letter is stitched, as are the numbers, even the horns on the sleeves are stitched on the interior. Something fans don't really look for when they buy a jersey but these types tend to age extremely well (I have a Faulk I'll be wearing to the game that I bought in '99 and it still looks amazing, oh and it still fits me because I bought it big looool).
- Collar thickness. Lot of the cheaper jerseys have a thin collar and they feel/fit weird and some of the ones I have I'll only wear with a hoody underneath.
- Material. I really like some of the new jersey materials, but you gotta consider the material because there's some difference in them depending on which you buy. If you buy from Throwback Joe's website for example the material is not the same as some of the newer ones and some like them some don't.
So yeah wherever the Mitchell and Ness is made, quality is quality.
