With a playoff spot wrapped up, does McVay rest the starters and risk dropping to the four seed or is he intent on keeping the third? Three puts us against Washington most likely while four puts us against Minnesota or Detroit. Is the opponent we match up with more important than giving guys a week of rest? It will be interesting to see what he does. I have confidence Jimmy G. can lead us to victory over Seattle but if he has limited weapons and some key defenders sit, I'm not so sure. What are your thoughts?

Personally, it makes a ton of sense to want the Commodes over the Vikes/Lions. Commodes have zero playoff experience and, frankly, appear to be the weakest of the 3. I think I'd try my damndest to win on Sunday. Plus fuck the SheCocks.

They will rest all of the starters and they might even rest Corum or limit his carries too. The Offensive Line will look like this:

LT...Noteboom
LG...Dedich
C...McMahon (guy they claimed from the Eagles)
RG...Jonas Jackson
RT...McClendon.

Theme Song for James Richard Garoppolo....Band on the Run.

First World Problems.
Jimmy G - have a big game and we might get a 3rd round comp for him?
Tutu - give him 15 targets and see what he can do. I think he can get separation on anyone, we just don't use him?
Corum/Rivers - I wouldn't play Corum so let Rivers go for 20 carries? RB up from practice squad?
McMahon - Would like to see him play a lot. Hear he has some talent
JJ - would be great if he got in and had a real good day. Will be needed if someone goes down. Boom as well
Hunter Long/Davis - throw it them him like AZ does with McBride. I hear Long was real good at BC?

I hope not.

He should play to win next week and only rest a few starters.

Rest Stafford b/c we can't risk injury to him. Rest Hav b/c he's recovering from injury and we need every starting OT. Rest Kupp b/c he's old and we need vintage Kupp.

Everyone else plays!

The OL can continue to gel. The offense as a whole needs reps so they don't get rusty.

The defense is young and needs reps to continue its improvement.

No sense playing Stafford to keep him "hot". He's been playing like shit anyway the last several games. Might as well rest him and see if it helps.
Kupp definitely needs to sit, as well as Higbee. We need those guys healthier.
Puka is too valuable to risk in a game like this. Sit him.
I would play the starters on Online except Havenstein, try to get him healthy. Keep the continuity going.
Definitely sit Kyren, and start Corum. See what he can do with a full game under his belt.
On defense, start the whole team unless someone is banged up. They are playing great, and are very young. Keep them in game mode.

Also getting the 3rd seed gives us a decent chance to not leave SoFi until the SB. That is worth a ton IMO.

Oh and I forgot, Jimmy G has beat the shehawks many times in his career. Let's see if he's got one more in him.
See if he can do what Wentz did to the 9ers last year.

Basically agree with this 100%. A win is still very valuable. As is the OL and D continuing to gel.

Really don't want to see a full game of Rivers because Corum is "too valuable". Not valuable enough to get carries though. IMO, Corum has had the 2 best runs of the season for us. both called back on holds.

Gotta see what Corum has if we ever have to move on from KW.
Starting Rivers is basically throwing the game.
Jimmy G was a legit starter at one point, he gets to earn his millions this game.

I say play the starters at least a quarter or a half then put in the backups. Only rest the starters that truly need it to heal up. Getting the #3 seed can make it more likely we host more than one game if we go far. Regardless of what they do, I'm just fuckin stoked about the playoffs.

Wouldn't rest anybody. Team is hot and on a 5 game win streak. Keep it going. Resting a couple guys has zero benefit. Hav should play after sitting last week to get him back in the flow. At best you rotate Williams out more with Corum and Kupp should rotate out a lot to try and keep him fresh. Play to win.

Kind of a hard call. 4th seed would have Vikes or Lions as the opponent. 3rd seed likely would be Wash. Outside chance with GB. We'd have a better chance to advance with the 3rd seed. But we'd also likely travel to Philly if we won. Philly's not a good matchup for us.

But either way we could end up traveling to Philly with a win. Tampa or Atlanta ain't beating GB or Washington. Which would send them to Detroit next round. So I suppose it doesn't matter. If we win we're likely going to Philly either way. I'd still like to secure the 3rd seed and have 11 wins. At least we'd have a better chance to get to round 2.

Agreed. I'd worry about the first round first.

And I feel GB or Washington have a decent chance of beating Philly, so I like our chances to go farther with the 3rd seed path.

I believe they were in similar situation in 2021. Had wrapped the NFCW/no chance for bye. Played starters and lost to SF. Anyone hurting needs to stay out but can’t be afraid of potential injuries IMO.

Rams have been carrying a RB on the active roster all year in Cory Schrader from Missouri, who they claimed off waivers from San Francisco. I concur I would consider not playing Corum and going with a Rivers/Schrader combination.
