Those hills burn every year. People who buy there know the risks. Hard for me to feel sorry for those rich folks. Kinda like building a house below the high tide line on the beach.
I guess you don't feel sorry for the people living in hurricane areas or in tornado alley either. Nobody deserves this shit.

Sofi has about zero chance of being affected by the fires. Pacific Palisades is a world away given the sprawling city as a buffer. If Sofi is in trouble, that's the end of LA.

The greater question is how many players evacuated their homes and disrupted their lives, which interferes with game prep, as many live in Thousand Oaks, Calabasas, Hidden Hills, Westlake Village, Woodland Hills, etc.

Well while I feel for the people that lost their homes or worse. I also have to believe they knew the risk moving to an area where a wildfire is almost certain. Same goes with the insurance companies. This is why people pay insane premiums and deductibles. Insurance companies should have zero complaints.
The market has been fucked up post-Covid.

Complain as much you like about the system but the way the system works is that the insurer has to collect a premium that allows them to maintain coverage and also operate (yes, maintain the evil P-word too) and in the last 3 or so years they have not been able to do that.

The state Department of Insurance has mis-managed the situation almost from the get-go.

Now you're gonna add who-the-hell-knows how many Billions in losses here to that already-toxic mix of shit?!

Holy hell...

It's a tangential affect, air quality is the imminent threat and as of now the game would almost certainly be canceled

The answer is zero right now. But Air Quality is also a question, especially if this keeps burning for a few days.

We all have had our moments when we hit "send" and regret it. I hope you regret that post.
Plenty of normal folks houses are gone. Businesses, schools apartments, beach shacks, nursing homes too. Now I hear the Rose Bowl has been opened up for someplace to go for people that have animals.
And rich folk are people just like the rest of us. Most of them did not have it handed to them, they earned it.
This fire is catastrophic. What do you do with 100 MPH winds mixed with fire ? Not much until the winds die down.

100 mph winds are crazy and will just eat anything up very quickly once a flame gets going. Just insane some of the footage I've seen and very scary. The one I was watching of the guy filming inside of his house gives me anxiety. Hope the dude got the F out of there... I'm very concerned about the dog.

So Fi is safe.

The winds are supposed to die down today.
It’s already much better than it was last night.

As far as the fires being detained, nobody knows.

Pretty fucking harsh. There are all walks of life suffering from these fires. It’s not just rich people houses - as if that should matter. Normal people are now homeless, jobless, injured, etc….

It would be Santa Rosa on steroids to get there.

Yeah bro, that's another issue but it sounds like they have water so far. They did recently ask for us to conserve so maybe that has changed.
Friends of my nephew said that the hydrants were dry when his house burned. The crews were there but with no water. Not sure exactly where his house was.

The game absolutely will NOT be canceled. I think you used the wrong word/terminology. Moved to another location would be the Plan B

It's also about the air quality and ability for people to travel around socal.

Air quality will be fine by Monday.

What do you mean 'people to travel around socal'? Players and staff know where they need to be on Monday. No one is cut off from Sofi. There are multiple ways to get to anywhere. This isn't an unexpected Big Sur landslide that creates an impassable road without alternates.
