I certainly have my doubts about the value in this trade from Seattle's POV.

Here's my thinking...

JG benefited from catching passes from Brees and from the more wide open O of Asshole Face. Does that sound like the Seahawk O?

Remember when Seattle wanted to get cute and brought in Percy Harvin? How did that work out?

Seattle's bread and butter has been great D and a punishing running game, hasn't it? It got them to 2 SB's back to back.

But JG can't really block worth a lick. He makes Jared Cook look like a run blocking specialist, for crying out loud. So how, exactly, does JG help the Seattle bread and butter running O?

Then there's the cost. He cost a 1st, Pro Bowler Unger, and another player I just can't recall. With a GM that's noted for identifying talent like few others, that 1st could have been a really valuable player, indeed. All to add a player like JG that just might be a square peg in a round hole on that O.

I dunno...

Like I said, I have my doubts. And I certainly don't understand the media euphoria over this trade.

So, what am I missing?

With TJ covering him, and our D-line forcing him to block more than he wants to, I think his use will be limited against us. Any fierce pass rush team is going to limit his use.

I'm not worried about Graham when we play Seattle.

He doesn't worry me at all. I am very confident our guys can handle him, We did when we play the Saints last year if I remember correctly. Though I do think he's a much better pick up than Harvin was. Doesn't matter who they have anyways, cause we're gonna rule the West.
GO RAMS!!!

When I think of Jimmy Graham, I think "soft". Even Hawk fans that I know said the same thing..before they got him...

I think he could flourish in their system, especially with a scrambling QB that puts the Safety/LB longer in coverage

Tough to say but I just have to hope he doesn't become hugely effective as a dump off target for the dwarf.

Well if RW is as confident in JG as DB was, I like the Rams chances against the shecocks. DB threw more ints targeting JG than completions, against the Rams D the last 2 or 3 times they have met. It is easier to bait a shorter QB to throw into coverage because they cannot see the coverage to read it once the ball is snapped. DB did it on his first 3 attempts to JG last season.

the seahags OL is in almost as bad a shape as the Rams. Lots of new guys. Jimmy is NOT noted for his blocking. He wont be much help for that OL.

Every time Wilson breaks the pocket he will be looking for Graham....and I imagine they will make plenty of big plays. The best fix IMHO....control the clock with our running game and control the Hags running game....victory.

I don't think he is.
Could be because I don't play FF though.

I think our D will handle him pretty good he'll get some catches but his numbers will start to go down in this division.

I agree but isn't he one of the worst inline blockers out there among the elite pass catching TE's? If so they've already got troubles pass blocking up front. Just sayin.

I think this is what most of the "experts" are seeing. They aren't looking at specific games (for instance he may not be effective against us) but the fact that Wilson now has a real target when he starts his scrambling. Wilson already kills you with is ability to get away, ifa team gets undisciplined against him now he may get huge gains going to JG.

All those opposing TE's have a plan . . . until TJ Mac gets ahold of their third leg.
