I just saw on Reddit that the Rams signed a kicker named Harrison Mevis.

All I can think is that if he sticks around, every time he misses, I'm gonna do my best Butthead voice of "Damnit, Meavis"

Well... Mcvay has already brought in another kicker and long snapper and I wouldn't be surprised to see a change or two up front either so coach is working on it. Sunday should be very interesting and I can't wait to see the results.

As duaneville22 says - he might need a therapist to get his kicking game back in gear.

I found a guy. Takes a bit of an Abusive-Dad approach, and has a few bad Yelp reviews, but then, who can trust Yelp. Right?

"Joshua, you are getting verrrry accurate. No longer are you a useless kicker, shanking balls left and right and causing @Loyal cardio-infarctions. You no longer will Suuuuuuuck. Close your eyes and visualize the two yellow uprights. Do you see them?"
"Yes! Yes I can see them!"
"Then why the hell couldn't you see them in the first Niner game? You Fake Ivy League stooge! Kick the damn ball straight!"
'snap'

"Now wake up and do your job. The NFL ain't for sissies. You see that fat boy McVay brought in? He'll take your job in a second.
And then you can go work for Charles Schwab."

I concur, not sure why Evans has struggled here, but he is a great punter, however, if the FG operation is a result of him, the Rams might have to make a move in that area if he continues to struggle.
They have a player like Stetson sitting on the bench basically? I get the reps at QB are real important though.Back in the Day the QB held for FG kickers.I also hated holding, especially growing up & you could never trust the person kicking.

It’s Ethan Evan tapping twice before the ball is snapped. That signals to the opposing team to time their rush and collapse the middle of the line for the blocked field goal. This in effect will mess Karty’s kick-thru motion and timing. Karty is not the problem. Karty is an excellent kicker. It’s the entire ST operation and Chase Blackburn needs to figure this out.
Why then, does it take him soooo long to get the kick off ?
I've seen comparison vids where he's just beginning his approach, while the comparison kicker is about to strike the ball.
This assumed to be an accurate comparison leads me to believe that Karty's mechanics and timing are the real issue.
That, and coaching hasn't corrected it.

Given that this thread is up to 14 pages and over 260 posts (post #266 is Fucking Brilliant in my opinion), perhaps the Thread Title should be changed.

Something like ...
Damn It! This is a Shit-Load of Talk About Karty?
or ...
If there are many more place-kicker threads, like this one, my fucking head will explode!!!
... that 2nd one is pure poetry ... if you ask me

It's competition, the best kicker will kick on Sunday against the bastards up north.
As we should expect. I am just not so sure it’s real competition. But if the fat boy wins, it’s real unfortunate. Unless the newbie proves to have a real NFL leg. If he does… Karty who?

Ummmmmm

Try telling that to the Colorado Avalanche, Denver Nuggets and the St. Louis Rams fans.
Huh. Seems to me that Arsenal spends towards the top, and his Colorado teams aren’t anywhere near the bottom. The Rams, Nuggets, Avalanche, and Arsenal have all won pretty recent championships.

He also paid Karl when he was ill and couldn’t coach.

Yeah… He’s a real cheapskate.
