Ok, here is the field goal. He starts the process of windup way too late. After the video is still shots of kicks including the record breaker this weekend where the kicker is taking their first step before the ball even reaches the holder. What's weird is after that are two pics from two Karty field goals....

Two Karty field goals... one is from last season week 3 when he nails a game winner against Whiners with 2 seconds left. Other is yesterdays missed FG. The Whiners kick he's already made one step before the ball is even on the ground. Yesterday he doesn't begin to take a step until the ball is on the ground. Between the shit blocking on edges and around the snapper and his long wind up this season it's no wonder things are getting blocked. Idk why this has become an issue but it's a serious one that needs fixed.

Yeah man. Karty is in his own head me thinks. That's a simple timing/mechanics issue that should be fairly easy to fix.

I have been supporting Karty but seeing that above video where he is a second late to kick the ball, we need a replacement for this season.
Karty may be able to fix it during the offseason.

Blackburn has hung around too long.
I have a theory that McVay started to think maybe he was part of the problem with his ST coaches. And Blackburn benefitted from that, as he has had windows where he's pissed me the hell off at least and I would have shitcanned him by now. Certainly he'd be shitcanned today if it was my call.
But back to McVay one of his weaknesses is the way he builds rosters at the bottom. He prioritizes too many upside types on the offensive side with those last roster spots, guys who aren't there for their ST potency but rather hey maybe this guy can develop into something that helps the offense. And I think he needs to change that.
ST coaches are not difficult to find. Scour the college game and poach one of them. Get a guy in here who has shown strong kicking knowledge and production over at least a few seasons, and preferably someone with some fuckin fire to them on the sideline.

Who cares about the Special Teams, we're stuck with what we have....
McVay has decided to finally score touchdowns and go for it on 4th downs (when the right opportunity presents itself) and punt.
Hopefully we don't need Karty for any game winners moving forward. But if we do maybe throw some holy water at the TV..... I'm tired of hearing about the Special Teams, especially after we just kicked another teams ass..... again.
Wonder if Evans will continue to handle KO's until Karty gets his FG and extra points right?! Plus he may had pulled something from the opening kickoffs as that is why Evans handled the kickoffs the rest of the game.
I watched the victory speech and you could see him in the background when McVay was speaking. He looked troubled when he should be celebrating the win. I’m not going to lie I felt sorry for the bloke. Hope he turns things round (if he gets the chance).

This guy has been clutch before. We didn’t draft him just because. With how well this team is we shouldn’t have to worry about FGs to win any game. We can score the points aslong as we utilize our Offense like we should. Get Kartys confidence back up and fire the ST coach…

Karty definitely needs to speed up just a bit but our blocking on special teams is fucking atrocious. I want Blackburn fired as this bullshit has gone on too long.
I think the issue is with McVay and the coaching staff. Cameron Dicker was supposedly garbage too. Now he is one of the best in the league. Karty was a phenom in college. Now he sucks. I'm not buying it. McVay is a great coach, but his work on special teams has always left a lot to be desired. It has been shit ever since he got rid of Bones.
