This "Stafford is injury prone" thing is a short sighted view. He didn't miss any games in 2021. And was lights out in the playoffs. Especially in crunch time. His elbow sure didn't look like it was a problem there.

In 2022 its likely he was shut down because it was a lost season and the line was gonna get him hurt more seriously. If they were in contention I believe he woulda been playing. Same with Donald. Kupp mighta been able to return late in the season. But why risk anything in a lost season?

In 2023 it was a freak injury when his thumb hit a player's helmet. Something that can happen to anyone. Even more durable QB's like when Goff missed a game with a thumb injury. He certainly looked like a healthy quarterback in the second half of the season. And he sure showed how tough he is.
On one hand it is said, "it's the NFL....nobody is 100% healthy by week 6". On another hand if a guy is injured a lot "he's injury prone".
It's about how many games are missed.

Stafford has played 15 years in the NFL.
Games missed?
2009 = 6
2010 = 13
2019 = 8

2022 = 8
2023 = 1

I'm not seeing "injury prone" there. He plays QB....the position with the target on the jersey. He's played behind some shitty OLs. Injury prone is a guy who can't stay on the field. In the last 13 years, he's missed 17 games. As far as the opinion he won't play beyond 2025, that could very well happen. If the Rams win another SB in '24 or '25. Nobody knows how much longer he's a Ram. Enjoy it while you can.

FWIW, the Rams have had 2 of the toughest QBs in the NFL the last 7 years.

As far as "love" goes, most of us believe they aren't getting enough. I'd prefer less love early and a lotta love in February.

I absolutely agree with Cowherd and thought we were a playoff team going into next year. If AJax duplicates last year and KW stays relatively healthy to pair with Corum the offense will be a monster.

Yes we lost AD but we have more overall talent in the front 7 than we have in a long time. Veterans in the secondary as well. I think the defense is better than last year.

WHOSE AJAX ?? WTF - Alaric Jackson. Don’t forget about Joesph Noteboom if you’re adding AJAXS!! Then resigning KEVIN DOTSON was HUGE. Then signing JOHAN JACKSON !! You don’t even talk about the other HUGE move !!

Just let you fill in the blanks,because The DEPTH is there.
Then we can talk about how REAL NFL TEAM FANTASY works.

This is TUTU’s YEAR!! Creed has won 2 Superbowls,but yes finally. I go back to watching AD99 putting on a show against JAVON (lmao)Brown.He goes on PEDS & Austin Blythe shows up at RG.

Last season was crazy - The Rams depth stunk,until DOTSON was placed at RG & DOMINATED!! Where is Shelton ? This is a NEW ERA & The RAMS 2023 TOP DRAFT PICK is what the season was what’s getting overlooked.

I saw a photo from OTA’s that was pretty AWESOME. STEVE AVILA is THE RAMS OFFENSIVE LINE LEADER.
I get The Jackson & Jackson thing,but haven(stein) Joseph Noteboom healthy & playing LG again with the absence of Brian Allen is HUGE !! No more undersized OFFENSIVE LINEMAN upfront.There’s about a TON of BEEF with JohN,Steve & Kevin.

The photo was from a power rush against Noteboom.It shows Steve Avila pushing & supporting Noteboom on the waste to help him with leverage. The RAMS OFFENSIVE LINE is NEXT LEVEL.
—Don’t know about you,but RAM FAN HATERS just like with ROGER SAFFOLD don’t APPRECIATE The HARDWORK that goes into The Kraft.
—LMFAO - OLDSCHOOL all your drafting time you spent— WHAT A JOKE now that it has come back to me with your thoughts of a LT!! You in itself didn’t & or don’t get it !!

JARED VERSE is such a LEADER !! I mean he is already leading The Rams defensive front.Just & maybe more important was Hoecht singing than AJAXS ? That’s if The Rams were going to go LT!! WTF would The Rams look like without this 2024 DRAFT CLASS ?? Just glad your a solid poster & not The GM !!

Going in this direction —WOW - I mean Fiske is just grinding,but having Verse with Hoecht & Young. Those guys are going to push each other & bring amazing ENERGY !! I love Steve Avila,but Verse is talking his talk to.
Joesph Noteboom is my guy.I mean go ask Andrew Whitworth who is THE GREASTEST RAMS FREE AGENT EVER what he thinks about his BOY! Sean Mcvay is NOTEBOOMS biggest FAN. He knows the work is getting done & Johan will slide right into that LG spot.
—I’ll keep telling RAM FANS don’t sit on Joseph Noteboom - he is still going to FIGHT 4 that LEFT TACKLE SPOT !! He’s healthy & working hard.
LMAO - the CRAZY thing about your RAMS DRAFTING a LT is who on The The O’Line gets CUT ???

I almost wish for 4 preseason games again with The Rams depth.
Jimmy G might not be so Happy going out a few series with a bunch of backups.Then again throwing to this young group of WR’s might be exciting to see who emerges.This JJ Lapp might surprise? Tyler Jonson is a wonderful vet,Stoops.Then is Whittington all that ?

So Ram pulling some stupidity out of his ass and saying Raheem Morris didn't care about winning. How completely ignorant do you have to be to think a guy coaching in the NFL doesn't care about winning.

No we don't mind, let McVay use it. And it's 100% happening because 99 retired. They're writing our D off as terrible like a lot here did last year.
Look at you talking smack. I agree with your statement on all the Raheem Morris HATERS around here.I’ll eat CROW because you had The Rams drafting Jared Verse.

What I’ll say it’s not 100% because of #99 imo.There is a lot that goes into it.Trying to talk myself into a Vegas trip.If I agreed with that I’d already been there.
I guess my question then would be your thoughts on Shula vs. Raheem Morris or any other of Mcvay’s DC’s. In Shula’s words he’ll take a little from each of those DC’s from his time with The Rams.

No reason the Rams can't have a good defense without AD. 31 teams didn't have him over the years and some had pretty good defenses. Can't replace him but they can still build a good defense.

Last year, the Rams were one of the hottest teams in the NFL down the stretch. Their season ended with a one point loss against a team that should have made the Super Bowl.

Since then, the Rams have upgraded their roster in several areas. I think it's fair to say that the Rams will go into the 2024 season with more talent and/or depth at QB, RB, interior OL, EDGE and in the defensive backfield.

And yet, when I listen to or read the talking heads and commentators discuss teams that are expected to contend, few seem to include our Rams.

Why is that?

I have three theories:

1. 2023 naysayers find comfort in believing last year was a fluke. There were many pushing the narrative that last year's team was a rebuilding squad paying the price of having gone "all in" to win a championship. Now, rather than admitting that they were wrong, or that the Rams overcame their circumstances by building a durable playoff roster through a spectacular draft, some seem to be falling back on the notion that the Rams have a lot of holes and won't be able to compete with the top teams.

2. Over-estimating the Donald effect. Don't get me wrong... losing Donald is huge. He can't be replaced. That said, the Rams have assembled a deep and promising group of young players who could prove to be very effective. The notion that the loss of Donald will result in fewer wins, despite all the Rams' additions throughout the roster, is pessimistic overreach, in my opinion.

3. Drinking the 49er kool-aid. A lot of people seem to want to jump on the 49er bandwagon and, as a result, have pushed the Rams to a lower tier. I, for one, could see a 49er collapse, similar to other second place finishers in the past. Also... use a little imagination... its entirely possible that the two best teams in the NFC are both in the West.

So, despite last year's finish, the Rams seem to be an afterthought that is flying under the radar.

I say... good.

Maybe our opponents will underestimate us too.

No shortage of crow to serve later.
Vegas put the over under for wins at only 8.5! That seems crazy but it is hard to doubt Vegas.

Their objective is to have even bets on both sides. If they set the win total at 9.5, they’d probably get too many “under” bets (remember…a lot of bettors are non-Rams fans who might view last year as a fluke).

So…the Vegas numbers are more of an estimate of the perceptions of gamblers, rather than a prediction of how the Rams (or any team) will actually perform.

Overlook the Rams at your own peril. They have arguably the best quarterback in the NFC. An improved offensive line. Good running backs. Good receivers. Tight end is the one question mark with Higbee's injury. But Davis Allen looks like he could step in and do the job. And don't forget Parkinson. A 6'7" athletic tight end who improved his blocking during his time in Seattle. McVay/Snead saw something in him to give him a 3 year 22.5 million dollar contract. 10.25 million guaranteed.

Defense does have a huge question mark. How do you move on from Aaron Donald? You don't replace him. But you can build a good defense. 31 other teams did not have Aaron Donald and some of them had pretty good defenses. So its not impossible.

To me the biggest question mark on defense is how the youth performs. They have a lot of young guys. They did address it some signing experienced vets like White. Williams and Curl. Curl is only 25. He might be young but he's got 4 years experience.

The defense might not have a fast start but with the overall talent I think they could come together nicely by season's end. And its not like they have to be top 10 to win. The offense is capable of carrying the load most the season.

AD is a hard one to not have anymore. 3rd downs, 4th quarter, when the Rams defense really had to have the stop, turn momentum, force a turnover, preserve the W, Donald had a sixth sense and extra gear to make the play. Step up in big moments.

People made such a big deal about Sean McVay saying, "Aaron Donald's going to make a play" in the Super Bowl. Even on a star studded team with other HOFers on it, Aaron Donald's going to make the play. But Sean McVay wasn't the only one who saw that coming. We were all saying it, because we'd seen it so many times before.

Jared Verse might eventually display that ability too, probably not as a rookie. There will be games where our defensive front doesn't get enough pressure. Just have to be patient with all these young players through the rough spots.
