Feeling all puffed-up again ?
Sorry, but I'm not going to re-argue the Bradford/Suh debate with you.
I would leave you with the same reply I offered last time around, but that displeased some.

By the way, it wasn't hindsight in 2010.
Its always been hindsight
Wasnt an argument then, nor is it now. It was a false narrative that some refuse to let go

A team isn't drafting Richardson for what he did at UF. They're drafting him because he's only 20 years old, is one of the most physically gifted QBs ever (6'4" 240 with 4.4 speed and a howitzer for an arm), has good character, and could become a generational QB if he pans out. Basically, they're thinking they could get a Josh Allen type talent.

Is that possible? Sure. It's also possible that Richardson is a total bust. He has a lot of developing to do. But I'm not so sure it's a bad idea to take a kid who could be a NFL MVP or could put you in position to be picking a top QB prospect again in a couple years. It's arguably better than having a QB who is just good enough to stick around but not good enough to get your team over the hump.
I knew the why…not being better at Florida is what drove my opinion.

Flutie won the Heisman. It doesn’t equate to being an NFL caliber QB.
My memory gets fuzzy…didn’t Flutie have an NFL career? LOL

Sometimes they get it right.

Hooker had a fine career and I expect he will at the next level. Air Raid concerns me.

I knew better than to post in these draft threads and did it anyway.

Fuck, there is not a single enjoyable thing about these posts.

My mistake.

Anyone under center will get blown up. Rams HAVE to draft a stud center. Or trade for a proven one.
This has been the case for years now. Drafting a QB high will be a waste without solving this problem.

Umm... not to be contrarian, but Patrick Mahomes played in the Air Raid.

I know he's an exception to the rule, but perhaps Mahomes isn't unique as an exception as more teams play the Air Raid offense and attract more people who's talents will translate to the NFL?... especially as the NFL embraces more of the Air Raid concepts?

Mebbe?
Mahomes was viewed as a project too. Andy Reid and Asshole Face saw it differently and turned out to be right.

Think of this too. McVay was hard on Goff for not grasping the offense completely. Hooker scored 64% on the S2 cognitive test. That measure your ability to think fast/ process. I don’t see the fit with McVay. Jaran Hall, on the other hand scored 92%. I’m hoping it’s a smoke screen and not McVay falling in love with a prospect.

Flutie played in the NFL yes. Was he that good in the NFL? No.

If Goff wasn’t good enough for McVay then I don’t see Hooker being good for McVay. McVay’s offense puts a lot on the QB. Rodgers said so and he’s supposedly one of the more intelligent players.

It certainly does. Which is why I think this groupthink in the media that Levis is some garbage ass turnover machine is some BS. First off the guy won a ton at Kentucky and had a great season under Coen. Then loses his OC and linemen and gets sacked more than Young and Stroud combined, plus plays through injuries, and suddenly he's shit.

Sometimes I wonder if people at large are completely incapable of looking at anything with objectivity. Everything always has to gravitate to the extremes.

I like Hookers accuracy, touch and anticipation. His setup and release remind me of Deshaun Watson in a good way, though everyone seems to compare him to Geno Smith.

If we could move around and get a 4th rounder I wouldn’t be pissed
If we drafted him there.

But those 3 early picks i would focus on edge, lineman and other immediate needs.

You can't make a hoe a housewife and this dude has already hit his ceiling given his age and injury history.

That right there is pretty impressive. I went to high school in Lexington and remember the motto of Kentucky Football: "Wait 'til basketball season!!"

I'd look into the offense if you get a chance... This may have the roots in the air raid but this offense is crazy different than even that. It really barely resembles an NFL offense. Mahomes was light years ahead of Hooker in what he was processing snap to snap. Whomever takes the kid is taking him for some very strong tools but this guy doesn't even know how to read a defense when not using a deep choice route. He's never had to read a defense with regular WR splits even. He's gonna need to sit for awhile.

As much as I would love to grab (a) Hooker in the 4th round, 0% chance of him being there. I'd be surprised if he made it out of the 1st honestly.

If we moved up for Hooker, I'd trust McVay. I like Hooker. I think given time to adjust to a NFL system, he can be a quality QB.
The most honest answer I can give is this…

Initially, I’d hate the move, as we’d be using draft capital for a player who would not be expected to play this year and, therefore, won’t pay immediate dividends.

Ultimately, though, if he were become our next franchise starter, I’d happily eat my words.
