Reading all the comments, it's all been said. For me the theme is just Self-Inficted Wounds. Problems on offense, defense, and special teams. Fix any one of those problems and we would have won.
One thing I did not expect was the very good pass protection that Jones got early in the game. He had oodles of time and space to throw. We weren't getting home. Yes, by the 4th Q and OT we were hammering him good, but I am really surprised we couldn't have done a better job earlier there.
Hidden stat: Rams now 1-1 versus Jones QBs.
This was also the first game I've seen for a while where we really didn't need the running game to set up the pass. Stafford was able to throw at will in the 2nd half and OT. 47 pass versus 16 run.
Saw an analytics post that said Rams were correct to go for it on 4th down at the end - win probability 49.1% vs 38.6% kicking a FG. I was ok with them doing that. You'd think they might have a cooked up 2 yard play in the books to run there.
Happy Ferguson got in the game and made a nice contested catch for 21 yards. Why no other targets after that?
