Really, what don't you like?My Lord would I be disappointed if we traded up for Tate. Tyson and Love I could understand. Tate, no.
I just don't see IT with him. He's solid, but, I have him behind both Tyson and Tate and bascially tied with Cooper/Concepcion in my rankings. He has no area where he is dominate and I'm concerned that he saw a lot of soft coverages in college due to the deity that was lined up opposite him. The other 2 top guys were the offense of their teams for the most part.Really, what don't you like?
Think he's probably a top 10 receiver in the league within 3 years.
Outside shot he's Devonte Adams at the end of the day.
If it's just a small move up I'd be ok with it. But yes Tate is simply not heads and shoulders above the rest. He's just a very safe pick who adds nice size and is by all accounts a great kid, who will benefit from a weak draft up top.My Lord would I be disappointed if we traded up for Tate. Well you don't have to sell me on KC, he's my fav receiver in the draft and I can at least see how his drop issue is solved.I just don't see IT with him. This is why I keep saying Boston isn't so far off him when you watch their film. They're quite close I think, so if Boston goes in the 20s some playoff team will get a dude who is about equivalent to the wideout a team in the top ten got.
You cannot teach size and hands. And smoothness in the pattern is very hard to teach at the NFL level. So I doubt Boston gets to the 20s but who the hell knows this year.
I totally understand where flatlyner is coming from, and I agree with Merlin here. Tate is good, but not much better (or worse) than the other guys in the discussion.
I agree, I don't think Tate is anything special but I would be like cool if we did hahaReally, what don't you like?

Yeah if we traded up, I'd obviously rather it be for Tyson but I think everyone knows that beaten deadhorse ass view of mine lolI totally understand where flatlyner is coming from, and I agree with Merlin here. Tate is good, but not much better (or worse) than the other guys in the discussion.

I consider Tyson and Lemon being pretty special. TBH, if Tate fell to 13 I'd be really hoping for a trade back offer. I would be considerably happier trading back to grab the next 3 (Cooper/Concepcion/Boston) then sticking and picking Tate. I'm sure he'd be fine in our system, just do not see special.I agree, I don't think Tate is anything special but I would be like cool if we did haha
Tate will be very good and likley a safe pick, but some of the other guys look like they could be more dynamic with more upside. So I agree.I totally understand where flatlyner is coming from, and I agree with Merlin here. Tate is good, but not much better (or worse) than the other guys in the discussion.
From my understanding when you see a receiver make difficult catches (and he has a number on his film) the drops tend to be concentration issues and not things like confidence, technique, body control, catching through contact (I'm looking at you Fergy). How?
I like Lemon but there's a decent gap between Tate and him in my book.I consider Tyson and Lemon being pretty special. TBH, if Tate fell to 13 I'd be really hoping for a trade back offer. I guess I feel like these major college programs would also know about these drills? The drops aren’t something that came on suddenly in the last few months - it’s just kind of been a thing in his game for years, right? From my understanding when you see a receiver make difficult catches (and he has a number on his film) the drops tend to be concentration issues and not things like confidence, technique, body control, catching through contact (I'm looking at you Fergy).
I think if he's got the other things down, focus drills are much easier to train up then technique that's been muscle memorized in, desire to fight for the ball, etc...
That being said, he did have a few reps where he slowed up around certain types of contact not letting him get to the ball... that could be an issue.
Truly depends on the school and even then how much time they're spending on this stuff.I guess I feel like these major college programs would also know about these drills? Still, it’s an impressive game. May be worth dealing with the drops and hoping that they do get better.
