I don't think McDonald is all that far behind the other options. Neither is Miller. Either of those dudes would put Ford on the bench and he'd serve as a depth piece who can move around. They'd both start year one and make this DL far stronger, which would be great for our playoff run. That's year one impact.

Lot of other choices would not do that. So while I agree you don't normally want to go NT up high, in this particular year I think team boards are going to have a ton of deviation team to team.

Idk if I'm seeing the thought process here, do you think those guys are really that good or do you think Poona would be that easy to replace? Personally, I thought Poona was really, really good for us last year. I'm also not seeing star potential in either McDonald or Miller, both are non-factors as pass rushers even at the college level and you aren't going to take a DL in the first half of the first round who can't rush the passer.

McDonald is probably best compared to his former teammate Tyleik Williams who went a bit earlier than most thought he would in the late first last year and hasn't really made much of an impact for Detroit yet, at least not as much as someone like Poona. Would you take Tyleik Williams 13th overall or do you think I'm off base and evaluate McDonald in an entirely different tier?

FWIW, Arizona State’s strength and conditioning the last few years haven’t produced a great track record. Their roster is seemingly banged up constantly. Come to think of it, same goes for the professional Cardinals who play here. Rarely healthy ever it seems.

Ford was near elite for us last year. You really see McDonald and Miller as being elite players?

What I mean is that the medicals might turn up some degenerative condition or injuries that haven't healed properly. Otherwise, it's all a guess.

I feel that there is no smoke without fire. Tyson will drop to 13 and could be the best WR in this draft. That said, I agree with CGI that Tate Lemon and Cooper are safe picks to perform in our system
