This is why I hate the off-season. Many of our favorite players are cut... some because they aren't playing up to their contracts, some because we can't afford them, which really sucks.. When is the draft?

Yet if they haven't done it, then they are not comparable, whether rookie or back up. Littleton has done it on the NFL stage. You can't say that he is easily replaced with someone cheaper with any certainty.

Not easily replaced of course. I said: “There are just too many available replacements at those positions that can give you at least solid play. I have confidence we can get at least good inside linebacker play without paying huge money for it.”
Solid play, and good play do not mean they will be as good as Littleton. I just think inside LB is a spot you can get good play from cheaper options, plus, given our current salary cap situation, I don’t feel we should spend big on Littleton.

While I wish the off-season were far shorter, I like hearing the various ideas fans have on improving the team. Everyone seems to have a method to the madness, some may seem more practical than others, but sometimes you hear something clever that hasn't been discussed much yet. I say bring on all those crazy ass plans and let the dissections begin.

Hopefully Gurley.

He ain't the same back, and his attitude is a negative asset.

Yup the only way out right now is a trade.

And..........for those thinking GZ should be released here is some relevant info. Very few guys have his range. He's not perfect, but he's excellent. He had a down year and I suspect he has a nagging injury.

From 57 yards away he put the Rams in the SB. Many coaches wouldn't have even tried because their kicker doesn't have enough power and they wouldn't want to risk giving Brees and the Saints excellent field position to kick their own FG to win. So on that 4th and 7 they would be giving the ball back to the Saints via a punt.

And he nailed a 48 yarder to tie at the end of regulation too.

This isn't a guy you cut loose. He can make it from 60 yards out. Those kinds of kickers are rarer than hen's teeth. At the end of a game he can get the win from a long way away. He won't make all of them but he makes more than most kickers.

Remember the 66 yarder versus the Dolphins that he missed? It didn't fall short, it was wide. How many kickers could do tat?

If he struggles next year then maybe it's time to move on, but not yet.

Less anyone forget or is unaware, Greg the Leg nailed a 70-yard FG during a collegiate practice session. I am still half-expecting him to break the NFL field goal distance record sometime.
