Which QB should the Rams draft in the 1st Round next year?

Well since Brady is the norm, Rams should just draft a future HOF QB in the 6th round then, right?
Pointing to an anomaly as some sort of proof of validation is a bit silly.
Manning, (both Eli and Peyton) saw their game go to total shit at age 37/38 when father time reared his head, likewise Matt Ryan and countless QB's before. Now we are expecting Stafford, who in the past 3 offseason had potential career ending injuries to his elbow, neck and back, has found the fountain of youth?
Nobody WANTS Stafford to retire, some of us just want to discuss how the Rams can stay out of the QB purgatory they went thru between Warner and #9 when he does hang em up
A 1st round pick gives the team 5 years to be prepared, and each year Staff sticks around is another year of QB education that cant be learned elsewhere

Im ALL for staying out of Quarterback purgatory, and since the DAY we acquired the 1st Rounder from Atlanta I've been pounding the point of we ARE taking our next QB in the '26 Draft. Only started pivoting a few weeks to a month ago based on a few factors.

1. The Quarterback CLASS looks nowhere near as attractive as it did coming into the season.
2. Stafford is playing SO MUCH better than he's played the last few years.

Now, if we have the chance to get the pick for Mendoza i say thats too good to pass up.

Other than that were those guys you mentioned like Eli and Ryan winning MVP's at this stage of their careers? Stafford is playing at such an insanely high level that to say he only has 2 good years after this one may be actually selling him short.

If you protect him and have above average Wide Receivers, Running Backs, Tight Ends, and O-Line, not to mention Head Coach, as we CLEARLY do in all categories, he is a Top 5 Quarterback in this League!!

I want not one, TWO more kicks at the Super Bowl can after THIS one.

Having said all that i have full trust in Hall Of Fame Head Coach Sean McVay and Hall Of Fame GM Les Snead to make the proper call on this, and whichever way we go ill be fine with it.

You arent paying attention.
Father time is undefeated. Its not selling anyone short to understand that
The Rams and Stafford have been going year to year for a reason. I dont want his incredible run to end, but its ridiculous to not realize its much closer than anyone wants. Last off season was the back, the year before the elbow and the year before that his neck.
Light bulbs are always brightest before they burn out. Manning the best season of his career and was benched for Brock Osweiler a year and a half later

I GET it, alls im saying is if they take a reach QB this draft they better be right about him.

They got to the Superbowl with the "wrong" QB and upgraded when the opportunity presented itself
I dont fear the Rams "reaching" for a QB, because they've made it clear they wont. I also think that whatever QB they would take would be a guy they believe in, regardless of what the "experts" say

I definitely HEAR that. To sum up my feelings, on Draft day 25 i was DEFINITELY taking a 1st Round QB in 26, on this day November 30th its down to 50-75%.

Stunned at how good Stafford looks now. The Interception totals being so low tells me he's seeing things on a level he's never seen before. For example, that horrible should-be Interception Jaquuski Tartt dropped, doesn't happen today.

I think Matt has savant-level seasons in him in his age 38-39 seasons. But don't get me wrong, i KNOW the time to draft the NEXT guy is this year or next. Id love to have a QB sit a year or two, on the other hand id also love an impact offensive toy at pick 10 to try and win Super Bowl in 26 and 27. Tough connundrum......

Key is just don't force a pick for a QB. If something falls in your lap or a minor trade up gets you a guy you really like, then fine. However don't force it. Next year should have more options with a lot of top QBs from this year probably going back to school.

Only tough part of that equation is, that we don't HAVE an extra 1st Round pick in the 27 draft. Hence, the connundrum.....

Excellent way to not really answer my question :D

Stafford took twice the beating over his career of the other two guys you mentioned combined plus some. This is a well known fact. Both of those QB's had great offensive lines throughout their careers likely 2 of the best 4 or 5 OL in the NFL every year. You absolutely cannot maintain any credibility and try to say that because 2 guys who never had to deal with the OL Stafford did every year in Detroit lasted until they were 40+ that means Stafford could or should too. There is absolutely less of a comparison to those 2 than there is to AD walking away at a young age.

Who are you or anybody else really to know or tell Stafford how he feels? What if he feels just fine? He IS having (checks notes.....) an MVP Season. For all we know he feels the best he ever has in his life. Do you have any proof otherwise?

There is zero proof that Stafford is ailing in any way, shape or form. And I still maintain that Stafford/Donald is not an apples-to-apples comparison.

Have you actually watched South Carolina games this season, or still watching highlights only from lateness year? He has done NOTHING to earn consideration as a 1st round talent. Just another Anthony Richardson clone, no thanks.

Well played :D

You can look at that litany of injuries he's had and go back to training camp and remember he at times said he couldn't get out of bed without pain and make certain reasonable guesses.

I'll add another reason he may opt to retire at the end of the season with a line we hear all the time on TV and radio.

Did you know he and Clayton Kershaw grew up as best friends? BTW Kershaw just retired. A possible link between the two again.

This is all true. However, I have a sneaking suspicion that breaking more quarterback records and climbing up the leaderboards and adding another Ring or two is his greatest motivation. Not being not able to hang out with his buddy Clayton since they are both married anyway...

Possible but again your main point is to fall back on feelings and ignore the injuries and the recent contract disputes. Those are much more tangible things for him than your feelings about what he might do.

But again none of us know.

Back to the draft pick discussion that this thread was about in an earlier post you're right this draft class doesn't look as great as we thought but there are a couple gems. Have to hope the Falcons keep on losing.

It's not this simple. 2027 *may* have more options but that's more than offset with the Rams likely having a late 1st round pick.

They'll probably be pretty far from the top options and won't have additional draft capital....unless of course they trade for some this year.

One potential difference is while this draft might have 1 or 2 QBs considered 1st rounders, the 2027 draft may have 5 or 6.

That's a maybe. They were saying that about the 2026 draft this time last year.

Also, assuming 5 or 6 viable options, McVay may like 2-3 of them. And, if the 5 or 6 are really good, they'll still be gone near the top 10-15.
