I'm a season ticket holder but I live in Oregon. Only make a few games per season (going Monday). The rest go to friends or to rams fans I find online. If that doesn't work then I list on TM (only once this season).

From my perspective there are five kinds of season ticket holders:

1. Non- fan investors. The SSL is significant, but you can sell some games at 3x ticket value. They root for the Rams mostly because it increases return on investment. Getting cheap playoff tix is a great return.

2. Corporate holders. They don't usually sell them but consider them write offs they give to employees, customers, etc.

3. Fans who sell some tix strategically to cover the cost of their tix or to make a little more. These fans sell whenever ticket prices are high for widespread/ traveling fan bases (cowboys, raiders, steelers, 9ers, packers, broncos, etc). They don't worry about who buys their tix, they just list them on Ticketmaster whenever the prices are over 200% of face value.

4. Fans who try (very hard) to sell to other fans, but will list on ticketmaster if they can't move them at face value.

5. Die hard Fans that would leave a seat empty before they would risk selling to an opposing fan.

Most owners are in group 3. I'm in group 4. I don't know anyone in group 5, but I assume they exist.

When I lived in Carlsbad, CA I had season tickets for the Chargers. If I couldn't make the game I'd try to sell to other Charger fans. If I couldn't I'd give them to friends I knew were Charger fans or donated them to Marines at Camp Pendelton or enlisted at Miramar that I knew couldn't afford the tickets and took the writeoff.

When my wife got sick and couldn't go I stopped buying them.

I think the Rams should setup a charity for season ticket holders to donate tickets to for kids, military or first responders and give them receipts for the tax writeoff. The only way I got to see the Rams as a kid was because my dad got tickets from his work. He was a truck driver for Dole who occasionally had tickets they gave away to employees. That's why I've been a Rams fan ever since.

He owns Arsenal, the Nuggets and the Avalanche along with the Rams. I think he cares less about Football than Jerry so who knows. He has done a good job facilitating success for the Rams. He has a lot invested though so long term we will see what his commitment is

he doesn't care about arsenal winning, that's for sure. he makes them just good enough to hang around the top 4 so he can rake in the money without the huge expenditure of the teams that win the whole thing.

i think he really wants the rams to win.

I sold most of my tickets online this season, but mainly because I didn't pay for them this year. I paid my invoice right before Covid, and they said I could either get a refund, or credit it to the 2021 season. Because of that, whatever I sold them for was PURE profit. My best friend has season tickets, and there are times where I sell mine, but go for free with him. That'll be the case on Sunday, but I sold my playoff tickets for face value to another friend to make sure it didn't go to a 9ers fan.

I used to get really mad at ST-holders for selling their tickets, but once I became one myself I stopped caring. There are times where it's BETTER sitting at home, saving money, knowing I just made $100-$300 on the game. That's just me, though.

The LA market is just a unique challenge.

The Dodgers and Lakers have deep, deep, deep connections and massive fanbases that have grown over the years. So much so that no number of transplants will overpower that fanbase.

The Rams? Once Georgia moved them to Anaheim, the drip started. Then.. 20 years of no team created a football vacuum and new generations of fans picked up other teams... and transplants kept moving in.. and the Rams fanbase was easily overwhelmed. You have sooooo many people in the LA area.. and, on top of that... SF is a short flight away.

The economics of football in a new stadium and that LA market dynamic means this trend won't change anytime soon, if ever.

Are you kidding me, have you ever seen Dodger fans at away games??? We took over Fenway Park a couple years ago.

This happens everywhere with teams with strong following fanbases. It happens, need to get over it.
Yankees fans have been taking over Orioles games for 25 years.

Jerry needs to take a page from his book. But how "long term" is this investment? Don't y'all NOT have a first round pick for the next 10 years? lol
Let’s see. I think we have like 8 proven first rounders on our roster. I’d think that compares favorably to other teams. And Cowboys 5-6 first rounders on offense are shitting the sheets.

Of interest if we end up facing SF in the NFCCG at home:

I must be missing something here.

How does the ability to minimize the time to transfer of tickets change the amount purchased?

I purchased our SB tickets well in advance but could not obtain them within 24 hours of the game.

I do like how they are attempting to keep home field advantage.

This must be going on to some extent with Tampa as well. I purchased tickets on vivid seats. They are electronic tickets and it says they won't be sent to me until the 22 which is the day before the game.

I got through 4 pages of this thread shaking my head in disgust. Sounds like a lot of you are calling out fans that live in LA. Welp…. I’ve attended just about every game since the return as a season ticket holder. The very few games I haven’t been to my tickets were given to the rest of our group.

We’ve talked about this ad naseum. Two generations of no Rams in LA. Kids and adults adopted other teams. Also all the transplants in LA brought their allegiances or those of their families. As far as the whiners… there has always been a shit ton of whiner fans in SoCal. I remember going to games at Anaheim Stadium and it was chock-full of 49er fans.

I’ve been to plenty of games in the past six years that have been full of Rams Fans. Some classic games like the Rams / Chiefs game in 2018. I guess that’s why it’s pissing me off to read this thread. The Rams Fans to go to games are passionate and they represent . There will always be tons of opposing fans because of the SoCal demographic.

As far as the “Who’s House” chant at first it seemed a bit odd but I get them trying to get some kind of rally cry going. Over the years it’s a lot more natural to respond to the rally and EVERYONE at the game on the Rams side gets into it. It’s actually funny as shit that opposing fans try to yell their teams name. It just makes it sound even louder for us!!!

Anywho that’s my rant. Don’t bash the LA fans. We have some serious fans at games, I know that first hand. My biggest regret of moving to Florida eight weeks ago was the fact that I’d never be able to go to home games again unless I fly back there.

I went on to NFL Exchange and Stub Hub to see about Titan playoff tickets and there are plenty available.

I didn't try and buy which may bring about not available until 24 hours prior to download.

Another thought is if a team took these measures could that be against some law?

I believe the issues with what we had with the Whiner game is the amount of Whiner fans that exist now in SoCal that developed in the twenty years the Rams were playing in the Doom. The Whiner contingent were pretty young as a whole.

Well said brother.

The Whiner fans did not outnumber the Rams fans at that game. There were enough to not make it noticeable but VERY noticeable. When they were chanting "Defense" was when it brought me back. If we could have established an organized response to that it would have sent a message where the advantage really existed. But there was no attempt. It would have easily been twice as loud.

Complaining about something that will never change is a waste of time. Trying to come to a solution how to deal with the issue not only can be effective but fun as well.

GO RAMS!!!

First off….just know that we miss you both so much. So sad we didn’t get to at least get one game with you this season. It was funny when I watched the 49er cowboy game this last week I noticed how many 49er fans were at cowboy stadium. The whiners have a big fan base. Just like there’s tons of Packer fans.

When the team left in 1995 the fans turned largely into Whiner fans as youngsters. They were winning at the time as well. There is a very large established Whiner fan base in SoCal. It has nothing to do with choosing who you sell tickets to. Which the concept itself s not easy as it may seem to some.

I’d say it was way before that. Georgia won’t pay Ram players. The Old LA Fans started cheering Oakland & 9ers.

The move was part of it then the Lossing & Niners winning.Go to a Padres vs Giants game for an example. Those fans travel as well & Love there Tail-Gate Party’s.

Your take was just the added part.Go look how many Greatest Show on Turf come out of the dark like cockroaches

Selective shots like this are just unfair. Maybe confirmation bias.

Go here and closely look at all the sections and see the truth. We’re there many Whiner fans there? Yes! Did they out number Rams fans. Not even close.

Just got around to seeing this and using the link and I have to say it honestly doesn't look much different than the shot I shared that you objected to.
I mean really. This doesn't do much to make me think it wasn't as bad as it seemed... infact these images confirmed that it looked exactly how it sounded.
There are some sections that are slightly better than others and even some that are bluer than they are red but to say that Rams fans were "not even close" to being outnumbered?
I don't see what makes you say that.

I realize that the 9ers fans made that game their mecca, and it was an anomaly. And I couldn't have been happier with the way LA represented last week. If we get to see them again in these playoffs, I'm confident it won't be anything like it was in Week 18.

Go RAMS!!!

Same here brother. That would have been great to have met up. We only went to two games before you left and it was all we took to just figure the place and trip out. It would be easier now that we know what to expect.

The whiners were good when the NFL started really taking off. So I understand the lifelong bandwagon loyalty. It is no different in the Bay area. Flakiest fans in sports.
