Decided to make this a thread of its own just like Game of Thrones had a thread.

This show hopefully will be big.

Look good. Rosamund Pike is a great actress…Watch Gone Girl if you’re unsure or don’t know her.

I'll read the books (whenever I get them) before I watch it. Sorry, but most books are better than films/television shows.

There are 13 of them, each approximately 1000 pages long.
We were talking about this the other day :D 4.4 million words 11,900 pages paperback 10,173 hardback and the audio books total 19 days 5.5 hours :D

Actually - there are 14 books plus a short Prelude book

But yeah - 1000 pages is about right for paperback

I think the hardback books average about 700 to 800 pages plus the glossary at the end of each book

I read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in less than four hours. I think I'll be fine. :p

No I didn't buy the comics but I have read the books a couple times
I started reading when the 1st 4 were already out. Then I would re-read from the beginning when a new one was due to come out. It was frustrating to have my favorite character ( Mat ) not mentioned in a book then have to wait another two years to read about him again.

Yeah I wasn't too happy when Perrin wasn't in one of the earlier books as well just when I was really starting to like Perrin

I wish I could find the interview, but the executive producer, Rafe Judkins, specifically acknowledged some of the pacing and storytelling issues from the middle books. It sounds like if they make it that far, they know they'll have to make some changes, especially for TV.

I think they could put books 8 9 and 10 into one season and shorten Perrin and Elayne's two stories into one season.

Jordan dwelled on those two stories way too much.
