Is he protecting himself----from injury.....FA status next year? HE doesn't seem like that type of guy...but doesn't make sense to me. I haven't seend the all-22, so I don't know.
If he is, Wade will see it and act accordingly I'm sure. Can't hide from film.
This is an interesting take. I do think that he is an emotional kid, as witnessed in Hard Knocks, but he isnt doing himself any favors with his play thus far in 2018. He is an undersized safety with one good year under his belt as of now.He isn't feeling the love. He is in the J. Brown boat. He sees the new faces and then he sees Gurley and Havenstein, and especially Donald, getting locked up long term, but not him. He seems like an emotional guy. I'd better it is bothering him.
It sucks for him being a safety. That is one position that doesn't get much love in this league. Even the top guys are replaceable.

Why would Joyner be angry? He's making $11m this year when other safeties had trouble hitting $2m this season. He would be thanking the rams that they franchised him instead of letting him walk. I have a feeling the top money paid to a safety in the off-season was around $4m. maybe $5m.

Not angry, sad. He sees this train rolling and it's fun and exciting. He can be pretty certain that he is not in the long term plans. It would be depressing. He said it himself; I'd play this game for free. He wants to be with the Rams. He just saw them dump Quinn and Ogletree. He is realizing that this isn't the same game that he played in college or high school.
Hmmmm but think about it guys who have we played that has really attacked us vertically? In all the games maybe a play or two here and there but for the most part its been dink and dunk. Especially when Talib and Peters were healthy. Now teams or just going after certain matchups. Ex Raiders picked on whoever Cook was being guarded by. John Johnson made a couple good plays. Vikings went at Peters knowing that he wasn't 100 %. Chargers beat us over the middle, now thats a game i would have liked to see the Safeties play better in.
If he said he'd play for free, then taking fewer dollars to stay shouldn't be a problem, right? Not angry, sad. He sees this train rolling and it's fun and exciting. he might not have been offered anything. remember we were trying to resign Watkins and AD's contract was still an issue.Teams don't franchise a player without first making an offer to sign him. I'm curious as to what Joyner turned down? With the market price for safeties right now, he might have made a mistake; especially if last year proves to be an anomaly.
