Examples ? I want to hear more about this prediction. Honestly

I think McVay and Snead realize a lot of their reputation is riding on this move. For McVay, he picked his first QB.

Therefore... I predict they will want to succeed with this move and will do whatever it takes to stack the deck in favor of that!

Mcvay is allows going to look for weapons.Like I’ve said late in the season that Josh Reynolds is not the answer. Will he bring a comp pick.
Gerald Everett was McSneads first draft pick & add JJ. That 2017 Rams draft class I have seen without a 1st rd pick. Ebukham is a FA as well.

I agree in one sense of trying to stack the offensive side of the ball. This 2020 draft class should improve a lot more than last season just because getting a training camp in.

Listening to that Terry Bradshaw interview on the trade makes me wonder who liked it more.Stafford or Mcvay as they are flying together to LA

Yeah Goff is a wizard at fakes. Unlikely Stafford is at that level. He will need a camp or two in this offense running high amounts of play action to get to where he can freeze guys like that consistently. But the good thing with Stafford is he has made a living putting balls on target without the benefit of play action so not too concerned there. Matt will risk and make throws that Jared won't attempt basically.

So we may see a bit less play action than we are used to. Definitely less rollouts. I'm eager to see how McVay adjusts this scheme and the changes will reflect what he thinks his QB can and can't do.
Play action helps the OL as much as it does the QB. So the question is can our OL deal with not having as good a play action game?

I am not so sure seeing how they struggle to protect on straight drop back.

I also don't see many highlights of Stafford under center. How will that affect our run game if he doesn't like that or his pass game if he has to do it a lot?

I concur and I foresee the restricting of several contract to stack the deck again for a long post season run.

I am well aware. But Goff needed the simplified reads too and boots also lessened the effect of his pocket movement which has been poor.

Protections need to improve to have a high efficiency offense. We just had a couple issues last year that magnified each other and one prob (the QB) has been upgraded.

As to the gun, it means more throws without the benefits of play action. Some QBs can do that. Stafford will benefit from that PA and run game marriage but can operate without it.

I think we draft a center. We no longer need experience there like we did for Jared.

Yeah, Bradshaw said that Stafford was over the moon about this Ram opportunity.

I’ll bet that he’s more than willing to run any damned plays that McVay draws up. And I’m sure that he will run them very well, at that, since he’s capable of running any scheme that even McVay can dream up.

We’re gonna see a wide open McVay playbook and that’s really saying something. I fully expect a return to a 30-32 ppg scoring O and if this scoring D plays anywhere even close to their ‘20 status? Well, the Rams will have the best of both worlds. Truly unstoppable.

You can color me VERY excited about ‘21.

Let me add, after watching Lions highlights from 2019, to say that he will be getting better weapons, is a reach at best.

Jones, Golladay, Hochenstein, and even Amendola.... Not bad. In fact Jones & Golladay are right there or better than Kupp & Woods... At least more explosive players.

I also did not see his interior OL collapsing on him on straight drop backs...he actually had plenty of time on his big plays. Can that happen here?

Now he should have a better running gam to lean on, but thst is if McVay doesn't get pass happy with his new toy.

In fact I often think guys like Stafford often do not get good running games because their coaches are so enamored with their QB's ability they are just too tempted to keep throwing the ball and they tend to ignore that aspect of the offense.

Look at how Marino never had a ground attack. The offense was always on him. Elway very similar until the end of his career with Davis taking the load.

So will be interesting if McVay can avoid putting too much on Stafford regardless of his ability.

I think you're gonna be shocked at how different this offense feels with 9 in there @PhillyRam. There will be better pieces around him and some who are still carrying the torch for Goff I am sure will cite that stuff when they see that offense to try to explain it. But at the basic QB level there won't be poor pocket awareness and movement magnifying OL breakdowns. There won't be plays where Stafford tunnels on a checkdown or his first read because he anticipates a rush that isn't there. There won't be play calls where McVay gives up on third down and long by calling a schemed underneath play to limit turnover risk. And so on.

Stafford is an aggressive QB man. He reads downfield and challenges DBs. We haven't had that since Goff in 18. That changes this offense by opening up the entire field. All I'm worried about right now is our defense not suffering a huge slide.

Stanford’s fakes were half-hearted because he knew the defense wasn’t buying it anyway.

I know we need an upgrade at oline but I also wonder what a full offseason and training camp will do for our guys. One thing that happened this year with such little time to practice was that the Rams basically annointed their starting line and then just gave those guys all the reps.

Don’t know that the NFL returns to a full (and normal) off-season and training camp in 2021.

If they can get everyone vaccinated, then it should be okay. By May, the NFL securing vaccines for the maybe 3k - 4k total employees (players, coaches, trainers, FO personnel, league personnel, etc) in and around the NFL shouldn't be seen as controversial.

The teams may maintain HEAVY restrictions for those who haven't been vaccinated, yet, but hopefully the vaccine can cut this spike off at the knees

If (when) that happens, I dunno that we get back to normal... that may take until the fall, but hopefully it won't impact the 2021 season like it did this past season.

I think the 2021 Regular Season will work-out but I was speaking to the off-season and Training Camp ... such as work-outs, mini-camps, practices and exhibition games ... not to mention the changes to the Combine.

Goodell already has stated that the off-season will remain "virtual".

No doubt it may not be completely normal but money means they all get the vaccine by end of spring. This years offseason will bear a stronger resemblance to a normal offseason than resembling 2020's.

"nature", "number", same thing. Do not get the jab. Just because they call it a vaccine does not mean it is one. By definition, its not.

I doubt we see anywhere near the amount of stacked boxes with Stafford at QB. Teams are not going to dare home boy to beat them like they did with JG. In turn, I expect the running game to flourish, and with that.... The offense as a whole. Rose colored glasses.......

I think by the time we get to OTAs, we'll be in a very, VERY different place.

But we'll see.

Oh god...

I've gotten the Moderna vaccine and I have an abnormally large c*ck. (I'm not saying that's a side effect... I'm just stating two awesome facts.)

Highly recommend both.

(Seriously guys, I can't write c*ck... just DNA rifle?!?)

I knew there was a reason I wanted to get that vaccine ASAP... good is good, but gooder is better.

You can quote me on that if ya like!
