All kinds of issues surrounding the OL, causing a LOTTA problems--which have pretty much been posted. I would, however, like to emphasize the longer developing routes/plays that were tougher to use, and the overall lack of production from the RB position in those areas pertaining to the OL.
(Gurley's lack of explosiveness also factored in)
...but wait, there's more!

FA production. Signing Weddle was a gamble in that we weren't sure when he would finally hit the wall/run outta gas. As it turned out, his tank emptied almost immediately and he hit the wall like a bug on a windshield. Too bad. Liked the guy.

In the case of Mathews, I was never a big fan BECAUSE of his lack of discipline--instead, always going for the splash play. He still could have worked out had we been leading more often and were able to use him as a designated pass rusher, but he was on the field too much.

The interior DL. Gaines did not impress, especially if couldn't get more PT on a DL that was inconsistent at best. Yeah, I saw the 2 or 3 plays he made. SJD wasn't much better, just enough. I can only remember one time I thought, " he's having a good GAME." I find this to be quite troubling when AD99 is already doing HIS job--occupying 2 blockers. Not eating up those guards and the center does not bode well for the LBs.

And what the he\\ happened to our STs? Dismal year all the way around. GZ is only clutch on ridiculously long kicks? 40-49 yards are the $$ kicks. Under 40, you're expected to make it. Over 50 is no guarantee. Look back on his career as a Ram, excluding 2018, and...I think he's gone. VERY disappointed in Hekker as well. And can we finally cut Thomas? The only thing he's done on a regular basis is cover kicks and the guy is offsides in a critical time in a big game? I thought he was gone when Reynolds was drafted.

Ok, I'm gonna breathe. Thanks for reading.

agree !! The special teams needs a total face lift. Snead got rib of Brown & Jones his first season as a Ram. Then Mcquaide is making big money as a LS. He is fun to watch practice with the LB’s though. Tough smart player.
Hekkar’s last punt of 38 yards was weak.

I see that Aaron OverRated Kromer has his supporters here at ROD.
Whatever.

I will continue to blame our subpar OLine for Los Ramos not making the 2019 NFL Playoffs.....and FACT: the guy running that department was Aaron LawnChairMuseumCurator Kromer.
So, guys wanna call it conjecture on my part, or call me Hoss and tell me we cannot jettison Kromer......I will say "why not?"

Let me ask all you guys who have anointed Kromer as some "big NFL resume OLine guru"......
and that is this.....
BASED ON WHAT EXACTLY???
How many SuperBowl Rings has Kromer amassed?
If he's so fooking omnipotent as a NFL OLine whisperer, how come his NFL resume reads like a patchwork quilt of 2 and 3 years stays over numerous time zones and NFL teams huh??…….or do NFL Franchises normally cut loose their star Coaching Staff members?

:palm:NO, no.... thanks for the advice, but I will continue to think that Adam BSArtist Kromer is the one individual most to blame for no Rams in the 2019 Playoffs......kind of like Mark Scherleff intimated....albeit by one degree of separation.

Couple of points......had Noteboom and Allen shown their flaws in 2019 PreSeason reps, might not have Les Snead found a way to bring in a FA OLine vet, when they were still a few avaiable in August 2019?? …...or was it better to stand pat, and then scramble to grasp the Cleveland Browns misfit Austin Corbett?

Another point.....how come when clearly Brian Marshmellow Allen was useless at the Point of Attack on running plays (think back to our TWO failed Goal Line 1 yard shots, up the gut, in SF game #1 AT HOME)......how come the Rams didn't eat some shyte and call up Sullivan's Agent huh?? My theory.....Kromer! He would've told McVay that he could coach the Rams OL yutes up...…….yeah, yeah.....how'd that work out Post BYE Week for Los Ramos versus decent Ds like Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Dallas huh?

I think Kromer is over rated by many here......and my opinion FYI is based on his factual thin NFL resume. And I will continue to blame him for not making the 2019 Playoffs.

Thanks for reading this!;)

Thanks for the weather concerns out here in the wild far reaches of the British Commonwealth, but I was confused by the rest of your post, especially the "ROD is fan-friendly" part.....as I did not criticize any ROD member in my post.

YET...
I am sailing close to the wind because I criticize Aaron Kromer?
Ha! See now I'm confused....
because I thought ROD was a Rams Talk Forum where one could discuss and present opinions sur les affaires de Rams. Your post seems like a warning letter regarding. at the very least, restricting any type of acerbic style when criticizing aspects of the Rams, and more ominously, you seem to be hinting at censoring criticism in general. Do let me know if criticism in not allowed, because that would be censorship. Period. Full stop.

Some history:
I've been watching the Rams since Tony Guillory blocked Donnie Anderson's punt in December 1967. I've watched Los Ramos live at stadia like Buffalo's War Memorial, Pittsburgh's Three Rivers, Seattle's Kingdome that have long ago been demolished.....and oh yeah, I was at SB XIV at the Rose Bowl in January 1980. So I think I know a good offensive line from a makeshift one from that half-century-plus of Rams observation. These things enter my mind....they're called thoughts. Thoughts like Austin Blythe is no Tom Mack, nor even Dennis Harrah. Here's a positive Rams OLine thought few would know.....NY Giant AllWorld LB Lawrence Taylor's most dreaded opponent per Bill Parcells? Rams OT Irv Pankey!!

More confusion from me....
…..and you say Kromer has merit because he divorced us from Greg Robinson? But didn't you also say "position coaches don't have the authority to.....sign players to cap-busting contracts"? So.....position coaches can only jettison existing players, but are powerless to sign up new players??!! Interesting.....because I always thought that the Rams GM did the jetisonning//signing players function thing! Another thought: even the feckless Jeff Fisher was sharp enough to bench a Greg Robinson in 2016....even though he and Snead signed off on picking GRob Second Overall!

I presented Mark Scherleff's comments about the OLine, and NOT McVay's O plan being THE problem in 2019,
i presented Kromer's vagabond NFL resume,
Kromer's choice as Rams 2019 OC being subpar, etc These are all facts...….which BTW were not addressed by anybody......
and I certainly never criticized any ROD member.
I presented an strong opinion backed by facts, but I'm still offsides?
…..so methinks that "grey area" about criticism-in-general probably needs to be fleshed out a bit more.
