Anyone else on this board afraid to draft a lean, tall, spread offense accurate QB with limited mobility skills? I cant believe the Rams front office would go down this road again. I see the Rams doing what the AFC Central has done; go with big, rugged QB's that can stand tall and move around and run if asked. The pick has to Wentz. He comes from a pro style offense and would be a perfect complement to Gurley. Over time, that could change as Wentz become more comfortable in the NFL, ala Big Ben.

Agree with your post except for this....
Goff can move...especially in the pocket.

Does he move better than Bradford did coming out? I think they were similar, but I could be off a bit. The hand size is also a little concerning with Goff.

Goff is mobile and has very good pocket presence which Sam had zero. Sam played college ball behind a monstrous Oline and never got pressured. Goff was pressured on nearly every play. He still played well despite that. That is a big big plus with him. Having great pocket awareness, being able to move in the pocket, and move the pocket, while still making plays downfield with the arm is a great ability that every team wants their QB to have in the NFL. Plus Goff took some big hits in college and didn't get a major injury.

Sure Wentz is oozing with potential but there are some unanswered questions with him. And he is not as accurate as Goff with passes.

This is also the reason I want Wentz too!!(y)(y)

Bradford was an underrated athlete outside the pocket but when committed to the pocket he struggled vs pressure.

Wasn't it Wentz that missed half the season last year with a injury

Sam Bradford had major injury concerns coming out of college Goff doesnt
Bradford played behind one of the best OL's of all time...goff played behind a bad o line
Bradford never handled pressure well goff works the pocket amazingly and consistenly excelled under pressure.

Goffs footwork and mobility within the pocket is light years ahead of wentz and by my estimation way ahead of most of the qbs coming out in recent years.

Goff took a beating at Cal and never missed time due to injury Just because hes lean doesnt mean he will get hurt.

Yes, Wentz should be the more durable pick, but not so far. Goff got creamed repeatedly for three years and he came out unscathed. Wentz was kept much cleaner and he broke the wrist on his throwing arm.
Just because a guy is a little bigger doesn't necessarily mean he won't be more injury prone.

I am concerned only because of the spread offense transition to the NFL. There's a lot of evidence that it's hard for QBs to go from one to the other and is the main factor in me liking Wentz as much as Goff at this point. But I do like Goff's footwork and pocket mobility while still being able to throw accurately during it. So I can't say he's like Bradford plus Goff's durability in college despite being rough housed a lot.

I've heard that Goff has tried to put on good weight over the years but couldn't? But they found a reason medically that he couldn't... is there an article about that anywhere or when was this diagnosed? Just wondering if he's been working on that now if they know why he couldn't and would help his cause a lot if he was able to put on 5-10 pounds over the course of this offseason... especially before the draft.

Medical reports say his mom kissed it and made it better almost instantly. Pictures have been withheld by his agent.

I'm hearing conflicting reports that his dad just rubbed some dirt in it and sent him on his way.

Is it at all possible that Goff could put on another 10 or 15 pounds if necessary as long as it doesn't affect his mobility?
