Losing Brees obviously hurt the saints but the self-implosion after the fumble TD was whistled dead was the final nail in the coffin. Payton proved once again how unresiliant he is as a coach.
That team isn’t able to overcome adversity at all. They start sulking the minute something doesn’t go on their favor. Bunch of whiny bitches.

Revenge is a double edge sword. If you publicly announce your need for revenge then suffer a beat down the humiliation is even worse. Not only were you humiliated you were proved delusional as well. The biggest advantage last year was their home field with it's noise. There is no doubt in my mind that without that noise they would have been blown out.

Aint fans are simply ignoring the obvious truth that their defense had multiple times in the game to put it away. Their offense gave them a 13 point lead. Then a 10 point lead and yet that vaunted unit couldn't stop the Rams when they most needed to. Hell they even had a lead after the non-PI with less than 2 minutes to go and still couldn't stop the Rams from tying. They still could have won even after the OT INT but again that defense couldn't stop the Rams.

The only constant is that their defense is good but it's not elite. Elite defenses make game winning stops. The Aints had multiple chances and failed each of them. Sunday it was the exact same scenario only they didn't have the help of the fake ref whistles. Go ahead and give them the called back TD and they still lose by 11 so I don't even want to hear about it. Ultimately it was a non-factor. They still got possession and they still lost. Even the media didn't want to hear that the Ram D was better and now they had Kupp on offense. The Rams were better than the Aints last year and even more so this year.

If the Aints make the playoffs like they might due to their weak division, you know in their hearts the last team they want to play is the Rams. One more playoff defeat to the Rams would crush them spiritually. As it is my friends in NO say voodoo dolls in Ram uniforms are a hot sale. :ROFLMAO:

At the game yesterday, next to me some nice folks, but, Saints fans, we were good. I even gave them a cold water. But, when all the flags came out and the fumble recovery for a TD was brought back, the husband started talking about the refs were obviously wanting the Rams to win. I just shook my head. They really do think the refs are out to get them! It's a real thing! They are somehow being singled out of all 32 teams. They will never get over it. It's their pity party and we are all invited.

Oh, I have to add, when Kupp did his thing and put the game out of reach, the Saints fans hit the exits hard. It was a stampede. So, the Rams fans waved goodbye and we sang, probably 45,000 to 50,000 strong "Na na na na, Na na na na, Hey Hey Hey, Goodbye"! It was awesome!

I too was at the game and there were some Saints fans close by who were mostly good natured who erupted when that fumble/TD happened and were totally dejected when the play was called back. That was just about the last noise you heard out of the Saints fans as they started on the long trek back to the Bayou! It was nice to see a home field advantage for the Rams and it will only get better in the LASED with its enclosed structure.

One funny story is the Saints DJ came and my brother and I spoke to him as we headed to gate 1. He assured us the Saints fans were taking over and that the Saints owner bought 40K ticket for the game from season ticket holders. Ummm no! It was probably about 8-1 Rams to Saints fans. I think most of the Saints fans that came saw the beat down and knew that call didn't cost them the game. There were Saints fans at our hotel that had nothing to say when we go back in our Rams gear. Awesome game!

Thank you for sharing that, it made my day

The Dallas fans out here feel the same way. I get asked how much we pay the refs or they'll tell me they stopped watching the game once it was obvious the refs were in our corner. This year and last year. It's stupid. Other fans just can't handle the fact that we're good now. Too caught up in the previous years of trash play, so the only way we could possibly be winning is ref favoritism.

Whatever. I told them it's good to have a rich owner that spreads the wealth.

My friend in NO called to wish the Rams luck this year. She watched the game with her neighbors and said one almost broke her TV throwing things. She tried not to laugh (she has to live next to them) when they started saying that the NFL hates NO and it's a grand NFL conspiracy set up by the Dems, and she said she reminded them that Kroenke is a big Trump supporter. LOL They looked at her like she was crazy when she said maybe it was Trump conspiring with Kroenke and the NFL against NO. God I was rolling. Seriously, she said more than one wanted the number to call to cancel their season tickets. LMFAO

My friend said I had no idea how crushing this loss is to hardcore Aint fans. Not one of them had any faith in Teddy B. Now they all hold up the fumble and the helmet pull off as proof of the refs conspiring against them.

I asked her if she had done what I asked on Friday when we talked. She laughed and said she put the fleur-de-lis medallion she had on her dresser with a Ram voodoo doll sitting on it. We were roommates when I lived in Seattle. She's distantly related to the legendary coach Don James so she grew up with UW football and knows the game better than most men. So think kindly of the SeaChickens next week because she was secretly rooting for us this week.

I was telling a friend at work today that the best part of the game was after Kupps long catch and run. The saints fans started leaving and there were so many leaving at the same time you could just see the cluster of black and white striped shirts and saints jerseys running for the exits.

Yep. And his players feed off that. Two plays prior to the fumble, the Rams had a TD taken off the board on a call that was, at best, very ticky-tack. Then Blythe gets injured. Then the Rams lose the ball on the fumble. Obviously a very bad sequence for the Rams, but they didn't fold.

That team isn’t able to overcome adversity at all. They start sulking the minute something doesn’t go on their favor. Bunch of whiny bitches.

Payton, the Saints, and their fans after they get smacked in the mouth = Cartman in this video.
