Mr. Delery lives in LA and is a writer for Canal Street Chronicles. I hope he remembers that game last year when Rams fans were chanting Who Dat leaving?

Superdome, New Orleans. Even in the down years, before the Saints became a yearly power in the NFL, Superdome noise was always an issue for visiting teams. The place just rocks.

2. CenturyLink Field, Seattle, WA, 2013, 137.6 dB

Well the top 2 sports stadiums on this countdown, have battled back and forth for the World Record a few times in recent years. The Seattle Seahawks and their infamous “12th man” initially set the World Record on September 15, 2013, during the first quarter peaking at 131.9 dB. Fans then broke their OWN new record during the third quarter of the same game when a level of 136.6 dB was achieved during a goal line stand by the Seahawks defense.

The record was then broken by the crowd at the #1 stadium on this countdown on October 13, 2013, with a sound pressure level of 137.57 dB. The record was later regained by the Seahawks fans on December 2, 2013 with 137.6 decibels, but they lost once again to the #1 stadium on this countdown in 2014.

1. Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, MO, 2014, 142.2 dB

The Seahawks were finally dethroned in 2014 by their former AFC West rivals, the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs were prepared to break the record, as they paid thousands to fly Guinness to the site of their anticipated victory. And win they did, by clocking an eardrum-bursting 142.2 decibels.

The record was shattered during a game on September 29th, 2014, with eight seconds left on the clock in the first quarter. This is the second time the Chiefs have claimed the record, as I mentioned the Chiefs and the Seahawks went back and forth a couple of times over the course of a year. This is the current World Record as of October 6, 2017.

The Superdome in New Orleans is listed as 4th at the link below. They are pretty loud there but it's not like Sean McVay and his crew won't be preparing the players for it. "Gee guys, I didn't think it would be this loud. I guess we'll lose cause of the noise and stuff."

No surprise that bleacher report reported that in their down years the place rocked, they are usually wrong on most things they report.LOL

NFL Picks Week 9: The Greatest Show on Turf

Week 8 saw the Saints pick up their biggest win of the season so far. Let’s take a look what Week 9 has in store for the Saints as an unbeaten rival comes to the Big Easy.
By Wallace Delery

Rams(8-0) at Saints(6-1) - Game of the Year
The stat lines will show that the Rams beat the Saints by 6 at the LA Memorial Coliseum a year ago, but there is a lot behind that result. Remember, the Saints went into Los Angeles with De’Vante Harris and PJ Williams as the starting cornerbacks last year, having lost starters Marshon Lattimore and Ken Crawley for the week. Even with that massive disadvantage and also having lost DE Alex Okafor the week prior, the Saints managed to keep it close, on the road, against the NFC West leaders.

Now, a year later, the Saints get another shot at the NFC West leaders, and current NFL leader. This time, with a fully-complimented secondary. This time, with a healthy Alex Okafor across from Cam Jordan. This time, at home in the Superdome. When the dome is rocking, and so much is at stake, few venues in sports provide as much of an advantage for the home team.

The last two times the Saints faced the Rams, the Saints defense was ranked in the middle-of-the-pack and were averaging 102 and 112 rushing yards per game against, respectively. The Saints enter this game with the top-ranked rushing defense in the NFL by a wide margin, giving up only 74 yards-per-game. This will be a huge factor as the Rams come into this game with the NFL’s top rushing attack, averaging 151 yards-per-game, Led by All-Pro Todd Gurley.

The key to victory will be the Saints defense holding Gurley to just 15 carries for 62 yards and no touchdowns. This will put the pressure on Jared Goff to lead the offense with his arm, which he is fully capable of doing. Even without rookie DE Marcus Davenport, the Saints have the pieces on defense to make things difficult for Goff, seeing the QB go for 284 yards passing, 3 touchdowns, and 1 interception.

On offense, the Saints will have their hands full, facing the Rams’ top-ten defense, anchored by All-Pro interior linemen Aaron Donald and Ndamukong Suh. The duo of Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram will need to wear down the talented Rams defensive line. Much of that will come by way of the Saints’ supremely talented offensive line, which will need to be at its best to protect Drew Brees. Look for a solid day by Brees, passing for 278 yards, 3 touchdowns, and no interceptions.

This one will be close and tense most of the way, but the Saints will find that extra gear late in the second half, allowing them to separate and win by 10, in front of an exhilarated home crowd. Putting themselves in the driver’s seat in the NFC by day’s end. Saints win 34-24.

Pick: Saints

I remember that game. The Rams dominated that game from start to finish. The Aint's never really got anything going and the Rams looked in control most of the time. I wasn't a nail biter. Another journalist that just looks at the box score and doesn't bother to watch the actual game.

I hope the Saints DOMINATE!!!!! It will have the others shut their pie hole!
--------------
I hope we blow them out just to silence all these "expert" talking heads. I'm just tired of hearing them all slobber over the Rams incessantly. They are NOT a dominate team and are very lucky to have won some games they should've lost.
-------------
in all fairness, we weren't lucky to win the Browns game??
---------------
And Ravens.
--------------
This.
Falcons game could have gone either way too. Baltimore as well.
We’ve been a bit fortunate ourselves.
I’ve never understood how anyone gets upset at what the talking heads say. Nothing personal, just doesn’t make sense to me. I couldn’t care less what they say, whether it be good or bad.
---------------
I'll play the bad guy for a sec.

We've had 3 games where you could say we could have lost as well. "Almost" losing in the NFL isn't a bad thing. It's not college. Winning close games is actually a sign of a good team.
--------------
She has 3 pair of black and gold shades lol. Definitely loves the Saints.

I hope and think we can beat the Rams but I know they are a good team. And we are right in the middle of a very tough stretch of games. This one is a toss up to me.
------------
If we do blow them out expect the national media to say exactly that

It won’t be about how good the saints are

It’ll be about how the Rams weren’t ever as good as we thought they were
--------------
I want to beat them for many reasons, but one of the main reasons is to rub it in Suh's face that he chose the wrong team.
--------------
If this game had not been in N.O I would say the rams would win, but I think dome field advantage will b just enough. It wouldn't surprise me if both teams score over 30 in this game
--------------
I think similar to the Minn game offensively we are going to take what they give us. Try to establish the run/short passing game...the key is going to be limiting the Rams big plays and putting pressure on Goff. If we can force 2 turnovers and take care of the ball offensively I feel that we will win...I think the Rams are going to try to attack our obvious weaknesses in the secondary, we will need to get consistent pressure on Goff to counter it....
--------------
Rams are the best team in the league right now, their 8-0 record validates that and remember like us they are playing
a first place schedule. Now that being
said they do play in a weaker division than us.
--------------
i dont think goff is gonna be ready for the noise. he wont be able to hear mcvay in his helmet.
-------------
Yeah, that's what the last guys was missing. The advantage of the dome isn't because Gurly hasn't played in big stadiums under flashy lights. It's because McVay coaches Goff at the line through the earpiece. They've played in loud environments before, like Seattle earlier this season.

Goff threw for 300 yards but had two picks in that game and they barely pulled out the win with a late game comeback. This will be a similar game, except Seattle's offense doesn't hold a candle to ours when we need to score points. The noise won't shut the Rams offense down, but I think it will be enough of a disruption for the Saints to get the win.
-------------
The two picking the Rams make no sense at all. The Saints have to stop the Rams, but the Rams don't have to stop the Saints? What the hell is that about? Like the Saints have some sort of mediocre offense? And they're talking about Gurley like "Oh he can run the screen, he can do this, he can do that, they beat Seattle and Green Bay" .... we have people (see: multiple) who can do the same things Gurley can and the Saints are better than Seattle and Green Bay.

The only way the Rams win is if the Saints don't execute. Our defense can shut down their run and our offense can hang points against any team in the NFL, especially in the 4th quarter when it really counts. On top of that they're playing in New Orleans. They haven't had to travel further than 1 time zone yet this year and the 2018 New Orleans Saints is a lot better than the 2018 Seattle Seahacks.

How can an 8-0 team be overrated? I swear to god we could go 19-0 and people would still be saying that.

Agreed. Though the media seems to be sold on the Hawks. They have looked good as of late, but aside from our game they've beat up terrible teams. They have a tough 4 games ahead, Chargers, Rams, Packers, Panthers. We'll see if they're for real. I think they'll maybe beat the Chargers, that's it.

haha, oh man.

i understand that they are confident, why wouldn't they be, the saints are are great team. but why are so many of them delusional? they can keep telling themselves the rams are lucky and not that good but it doesn't make it so.

Especially for a team that was trailing the Browns at home in the 4th quarter and needed a last second FG to win. They also needed Justin Tucker to miss his first XP ever to beat Baltimore by a point. All that was after they got their butts handed to them at home by Tampa!

And after the Rams win on Sunday, they will still say the Rams havent beat a good team yet. If Fitzmagic can light up their secondary why do they think Goff and his WRs wont be able to do the same. Have the saints played a top 10 scoring D yet? We know they havent had to block a pair of beasts like AD and Suh in the same game.

Interview with the Enemy: Saints could find early success running the ball against the Rams
Joseph McAtee of Turf Show Times joins us to preview our Week 9 matchup.
By Chris Dunnells

Another week of football, and another week of our Interview with the Enemy series. This week, our friend, Joseph McAtee of Turf Show Times, answers 5 quick questions about our week 9 matchup, a Battle of the Titans: the 8-0 Los Angeles Rams vs the 6-1 New Orleans Saints.

The Rams offense has been as advertised through the first half of the season, but the Rams defense has seemingly struggled so far. What gives?

That’s one of the things that’s been really hard to adjust to is the standards of performance being raised for the Rams this year and even last given how things went for the prior decade and a half. The Rams’ defense is currently sixth in points allowed and eighth in yards allowed. Football Outsiders has them 10th in Defense-adjusted Value Over Average (DVOA). By most overall metrics, it’s a solid defense though not one of the NFL’s best.

The clearest issue is run defense. The Rams are still susceptible to inside running attacks, and that got exploited again last week against the Green Bay Packers and RB Aaron Jones which they, thankfully, abandoned. Talent-wise, outside pass rush is probably the weakest area which motivated General Manager Les Snead to trade for Jacksonville Jaguars EDGE Dante Fowler Jr. this week. We’ll see what kind of immediate impact he has.

Maybe surprisingly, coverage has also been an issue since CB Aqib Talib was placed on IR after injuring his ankle in Week 3. CB Marcus Peters’ aggression has been exploited frequently and CB Troy Hill is too volatile to be a reliable man cover week-to-week.

But overall, it’s still a good defense. DL Aaron Donald is ridiculously good and he’s joined by DL Ndamukong Suh and DL Michael Brockers up front. LB Cory Littleton is athletic enough to be a solid complementary piece to ILB Mark Barron. And the safety duo of S Lamarcus Joyner and S John Johnson III remains one of the NFL’s best.

Jared Goff was put under pressure against Green Bay and appeared to rush some of his throws. Has this been a consistent issue all season? How is the offensive line holding up?

Yeah, the first half against the Packers was the offense’s worst of the year. More than anything, they just looked disjointed. The timing was completely mismatched which threw Goff off of the rhythm of the offense and denied him the ability to wait for things to develop. The offensive line, which had been ranked the best in the NFL to that point, was confused by the different looks and blitz schemes and the inconsistent timing of those blitzes. And when Goff did have time, wide receivers weren’t getting open.

It was just a bit of a mess.

Thankfully, they got through it and looked a bit like themselves later on, but it’s hard not to think that was the anomaly given how they’ve played all year. So I’m fighting recency bias, but overall they’ve been great. Goff has played the best football of his professional career, albeit inconsistently. The line has had some sporadic issues which have plagued them within games. Through seven games prior to last week overall though, they were spectacular in the run and passing game.

So hopefully the first half last week was a bit of a perfect storm for Green Bay in terms of their gameplan, early execution and the discomfort it put the Rams’ offense under.

If you were the Saints, how would you game plan to attack the Los Angeles Rams defense?

Well, it’s tough. The first thing you have to do is account for [Aaron Donald]. He’s just supremely disruptive in the pass and the run. In terms of the run, you can draw him upfield, or you can assign extra blockers to him which teams are doing more for him than any other player in the NFL (and wisely so). Same in the pass, but instead of drawing him upfield and running past him, you can work your quarterback instead of climbing the pocket vertically.

Beyond that, the Rams look susceptible in run defense and to the deep ball. I’m not sure we force seven punts out of you guys like we did last year unless y’all struggle to run the ball again. Which would be a surprise in and of itself.

Who is one Rams player that Saints fans might not be familiar with that you expect to make an impact in this game?

A couple. On offense, RG Austin Blythe has been a huge surprise. With RG Jamon Brown suspended the first two games, Blythe filled in and looked superb. He hasn’t looked back since to the point that the Rams waived Brown this week to make room for Fowler.

On defense, I mentioned Littleton. He’s developing into a hell of a player both as a linebacker but also as a special teams threat on punt blocks. And Johnson has quietly become one of the best defenders in the NFL. A third-round rookie last year, he didn’t start until Week 5 last year. He’s been very, very good ever since.

And one random player to keep in mind: PR JoJo Natson Jr. A diminutive returner who played at Utah State and Akron and filtered through the UDFA muck in 2017 to land on the Rams’ 90-man roster this summer, Natson impressed enough to get a call to come in after Pro Bowl returner Pharoh Cooper went down with an ankle injury in Week 1. He’s very quick and very shifty and the Rams block very well on special teams under Special Teams Coordinator John Fassel.

What’s your prediction for the game? Final score?

So I went with you guys winning 34-30 in our staff picks this week. As the score indicates, I just think these are two very good teams and in the NFL you generally just throw good teams in a blender and see what comes out. For the most part, it’s entertaining and close and dramatic and the good stuff that makes us fans of good football teams.

And that’s kind of what I expect moreso than a specific score or picking a winner. A playoff preview of two good teams just like last year.

The Rams seem to have the personnel to fix this.

they're talking about Gurley like "Oh he can run the screen, he can do this, he can do that, they beat Seattle and Green Bay" .... we have people (see: multiple) who can do the same things Gurley can.
What Da F**k. Multiple running backs like Gurley??? This guy is clearly a moron, Kamara is a good running back but he is not even close to Gurley.
