What's the Thordaddy game? Can't believe I don't know!

ThorDaddy was a long time, highly-respected poster. He had a form of cancer (I don't recall what form, although I believe it was a form of leukemia.), and passed away before he could go to this game. So a bunch of ROD folks pitched in for Opening Day against Seattle in 2015 to go to this game in his honor, along with a lot of his family. It was an exciting game, and I will forever swear that ThorDaddy tripped the Seattle defender who was guarding Kendricks and fell down, resulting in a touchdown.

And after the game, I went down, along with my mom, dad, and a couple of cousins, got to meet a lot of ROD folk, and even met Eugene Sims after I had to leave the field.

Just an amazing game to go to.

Still haven't been to a game. Maybe fly down to see Rams play the Giants next year sine it's the closest.

Or wait until 2024 against the cheaters in Foxborough since that's even closer.

Bengals at the Rams, 1990.
My father surprised me with ticket for this game.
One of only two games we ever attended together.
We had a great time.
Jim Everett and Boomer Esiason combined for 862 yards passing, 5 TDs and no Int. There was over 1000 total yards of offense that game.
The Bengals won it 34-31 in OT, but, we had a great time in the October So Cal sun watching the Rams.

It was Dec 24, 1985. Monday Night Football at the Kingdome. Eric Dickerson’s first game of the season.
I was like 17 years old. It was my first pro football game ever. It went like this:

My father bought us round trip Amtrak tickets to watch the Eric Dickerson and Dieter Brock led Rams play the undefeated Seahawks.

Eric Dickerson ran for 150 yards! Game was pretty close until after half time.

Then we blew it open for a 35-17 lead and then a 35-24 win.

I got beer “spilt” on me from Seahawks fans who after we pulled away, later started rooting for us. Lol. Steve Largent moved up on the all time receiver list that night to number 8. I think that was one of the last games in the Kingdome.

We had beaten the Seahawks and the “12th man” and on the train ride home up the Columbia River to The Dalles, all you could hear was people shouting “RAMMERS” woot woot! It is quite the memory. I’ll never forget that evening.
One of the most beautiful drives is driving up highway 84 from Portland headed east in October. The Columbia River, and millions of trees.

Yes spectacular! My parents still live there so I get to drive that route occasionally. I last did it in a convertible and that was an eye opening experience! I now live on the Southern Oregon coast near California and the eye candy down here is as good if not better.

Here's a pic of a bunch of us after the game. Kevin Demoff set it up for us to be out on the field after the game. There is a thread with a shit load of pics of all of us too.

I know we had a good ROD presence for the TB Playoff game last year too, that was a LOT of fun. Selassie treated us right. The walk back to the hotel was VERY enjoyable. Stopped at a a bar and were tons of Rams fans there..

Thordaddy Game for me is probably the tops for reasons mentioned.

One story I don’t know if I shared here before…

I was at the Sunday nighter in 2003 against the Ravens. Rams won 33-22 in an all defensive battle. A great win.

After the game we danced on roof of my friends van as we partied so hard that day and night. Holy geez.

I left permanent dents in the roof from my ass cheeks, doing “celebration-drops” onto my ass. My friend wasn’t too happy as it was his parents van.

The good news; they were only visible looking down from window on 2nd floor, otherwise you couldn’t see them.

The NFC Championship game last year against the Whiners! Actually cried tears of joy.
Was there at the Coliseum for the 54-51 Chiefs game and also the Vikings game when Goff had a crazy 456 passing yard game and they won the game.
Also there for the Cowboys playoff game in 2018 and Eric Dickerson walked over & signed my #29 jersey, which was a thrill.
If I had been at the NFCCG last year, I would have been a savage to departing Niner fans and would probably been featured in some joke video getting my ass kicked....lol. I am so jealous, but good for you!

I actually remember watching that game. Was that a 4:25 late game on a Sunday? I remember watching that in disbelief, what a game that was.
I actually don't remember what time the game started. I would have to guess that it would have been around 4 or 4:30 east coast time being that it was a west coast game.

I have a great memory for that kind of stuff. I remember it being a cold afternoon I think in November and I was watching that game. I swear it was a 4:25 Game in our time zone.

Weather wasn't bad at all for an October in Sheattle. Those Shecock fans were pretty cold after the game though. :laugh3:
