Last year we lost to a winless Jets team. The Cards squeaked out a win against the Jags. The only thing that matters is that every week you have to bring it. I'm impressed how few mental lapses the Rams had against the Bucs but I doubt that narrow focus is sustainable. The refs actually helped us for a change (though is still can't get over AD not drawing holding calls). Our tackling better improve or Murray can run for 150 himself. Will our OLB's contain? Can Gay remain perfect? Will we always recover fumbles and expect the opponents to drop interceptions? Adversity is coming...how will they handle it?

With all that said, I expect a dominant performance this week. This is an opportunity to see if the Rams have true championship mettle. But even the 99 team dropped consecutive games against the Titans and Lions so this one game will not ultimately define them.
Well, I had this bet with Rich Eisen. "I bet I can make you go insane over the Rams @ Jets."
I won.

yeah to me the bucs game was an important "gauge" game for the rams and also stafford...

these next two games are what could be determining factor games... very important...

go rams

slo
Pretty obvious statement.

The Rams will have played 2 division games within a week from now.I’d say these games will be important determining there standings in The NFC West.
The Rams are in the drivers seat & this Sunday is huge from the NFC West standings go.It’s always best to take care of winning the division first & FORMOST.
It went to THE SKY is FALLING to The Rams will win every game at home as an example. My take of it has always been to take the season as it comes game to game.Always thinking there is a chance until there is not.It always hasn’t been easy, but even under Sean Mcvay I still keep things in prospective.
The schedule has set very nice for The Rams.Going back to 2019, The Rams were 3-0 playing a weak Rampa Bay team & before you knew it the wheels started to fall off.
I know this RAMS(2021) team is SO Much better than in 2019.Still All 4 team square off against each other.Minus Rams Niners making there lose to Green Bay that much sweeter.
Yes this next 2 games within a week from now can really set The Rams apart of the pack in The NFC West.
Let’s GO!! Games are won on the Turf.Greatest Show on Turf 2?Even then only 1 SuperBowl victory & 1-4 franchise record so there is a fact or stat I wasn’t looking to pull up.

The offensive line discussion in the OP cracks me up.

"Kyler Murray has been sacked just 5 times thru 3 games .... Granted, we haven't played a very good pass rush yet." They give the O line edge to the Cardinals.

Meanwhile, Stafford has been sacked 3 times in 3 games - and we went against Khalil Mack, DeForest Buckner, and the defending champs.

I know homers are going to homer, but have a bit of integrity.

Cardinals have 330 rushing yards (#10) with 5 TDs
Rams have 251 rushing yards (#27) with 2 TDs
Quoting for the numbers.

Cardinals have 260 yards rushing with 2 TD's when you erase their QB. Those numbers are nearly identical to the Rams numbers.
Having a QB who can do what Murray does with his legs is a viable and dangerous weapon but...

If your QB can run it doesn't mean your team is establishing the run. The Cardinals haven't shown that they can close out games with a lead by giving it to the RB and the Rams have.

Agree with a lot of your points.

Adversity ? The Colts game showed adversity as well as vulnerability. That fumble TD which put the Colts ahead in the 4th qrt.Matthew Stafford did not blink & The Rams cameback right away to get the lead back.

A” Robinson has been getting held worse than AD99,won’t say as many times though.I don’t even know what a hold is in The NFL now a days.I have seen though if your holding inside the pads it okay.I commentator said he has the vice grips on a play, but seemed to think it wasn’t a hold? When a DLineman is having his whole body turned while a O’Lineman has a hold of his Pads seems Egregious?

Should be a fun game. There will be some kind of bragging rights, but The Rams will have a short week playing in Seattle next Thursday Night.Won’t get that day to celebrate,or dwell?

SoFI should be ROCKING!!!

Rodney Hudson Hype imo.The Rams rushing game? HENDO should be back though to add extra depth as a lead RB.Sony has earned more Reps though.

Game one. The other couple games I’m not so sure.I think The Rams have a lot more room for improvement & are the better Offensive Line as a group.
My concern is The Rams keeping Murray from escaping the pocket.Raheem Morris will be making it a point & also knowing the following week The Rams face Russell Wilson.

Point very well taken though.Spot on.

QBs like KM and RW are why we gave Floyd big money. We need to be fast, we need to be discipline, and we need to be sure tacklers out there.

You talk about a couple of homers???!!!

I couldn't even listen to these goofballs after about 5 mins.

This is gonna be a tough game no doubt but the Cards have the better roster???

I think our D is starting to heat up. You saw a better tackling more disciplined Rams defense last Sunday against the bucks. Sure they threw for over 400 yards but a lot of those yards came in garbage time, and the bucks threw it over 50 times if memory serves me correctly. I don't think the Cards are better than the Bucks, but it's still early so we'll have to see how this shakes out.

I got through 9 minutes of the podcast. I didn't hear anything outrageous. Of course they are going to be homers, but they weren't arrogant homers. Their confidence is shaky and they fear this matchup. They praised Woods and Kupp as WR1s, calling them studs while saying their WR core is better overall. They know they have the inferior product but are trying to convince themselves they have the real thing.

No matter who our DC has been, the Rams defense has limited the run production of Kyler Murray. His first game vs the Rams, in his rookie year, he had 28 yards on 4 attempts. The next two games, 15 yards on 7 attempts and the last game, when he was hampered with injury 3 yards on 2 attempts. Obviously, he's a talent who has to be contained.

This is where I think the Ram defense starts to gel. They know they need to be stout against the run and keep Murray in the pocket.

What I want to listen to is the talking heads Monday after the Rams finish say...a 35- 20 win!!!

3-0 vs 3-0

Rams beat the Bears, Colts and Bucs
Arizona beat Tennessee, Minnesota and Jacksonville

Cardinals have 1,005 passing yards (#3) with 7 TDs and 4 Ints (1 a pick 6)
Rams have 942 passing yards (#5) with 9 TDs and 1 Int

Cardinals have 330 rushing yards (#10) with 5 TDs
Rams have 251 rushing yards (#27) with 2 TDs

Cardinals have allowed 606 passing yards (#8) with 5 TDs (and a pick 6)
Rams have allowed 844 passing yards (#25) with 2 TDs

Cardinals have allowed 422 rushing yards (#29) with 2 TDs
Rams have allowed 278 rushing yards (#11) with 4 TDs

Cardinals offense have scored 96 points
Rams offense has scored 95 points

Cardinals defense have allowed 51 points
Rams defense has allowed 62 points

I can see why Cardinal fans are excited, looking at the numbers and watching them win 3 to start the season. I can see why they expect to come to Sofi and leave with a win. Murray is a talented, exciting player with a lot of weapons. Their defense is playing well. They have a chip on their shoulder losing 8 straight to the Rams. They probably want to beat the Rams more than any other team in the NFL. We'll see what happens

I heard a quote the other day that I'll pass on - it was attributed to Toby Harrah (baseball player), and went something like this:

"Stats are like a girl in a bikini - they can look good, but they don't show everything".
