49ers/Browns/Ravens those are the games to watch for losses. others are trap games we should win.

Browns defense alone can take us out of the game if rams are not careful might be a game of low score and battle of who can get the other team to turnover more and make a drive.

Just writing off the ravens game as a loss.

49ers are going to be in homefield chase so they are not gonna play around at all and prob be dirty like usual.
Cardinals had the Ravens beat.....any given Sunday.

5-1 makes them 10-7, not 11-6. And it's realistic for the Vikings to go 1-4 or 2-3.

Oops, but still get 6th seed most likely. We would lose out on 3 or 4 of the tiebreakers either way, because of our record head to head or confrence records. Only tiebreaker we would get is Seachickens.

Hence why "I think" was right on top of the post. I could be 100% wrong and everyone on this list does total opposite. I just dont like our odds vs ravens at all.
Totally agree. I could make an argument for winning against SF but dont see a way they take out Baltimore unless Lamar slips in the shower on game day or something

However, I do like the odds against the Browns especially with their starting QB out and their top pass rusher dinged up.

Yea I don't see any scenario where we would play the Falcons.

The Cowboys only have 3 losses so are getting that 4 seed. They will play the 5th seed.

The Niners and Lions are getting the 2 and 3 seeds which will play the 6 and 7 seeds (which we will be if we get in).

The Falcons could get a 2 or 3 seed if the Lions or Niners completely fall apart and the Falcons go on a huge win streak. Not Likely.
My post shows the Rams (as 5 seed) playing the Falcons (as 4 seed). Unless Playoff Machine is broken, this is possible since I entered the scenario to create it.

I agree it is very unlikely. But I did have the Rams losing to both the Ravens and 9ers to end up 9-8. In truth, they've proven they could lose to any/all of their remaining opponents, but this was my dream scenario :)

As always, for a team in playoff contention each game is the biggest one until the next game. We need this one because the following game is gonna be tough to win. We also need wins against the Saints, Commodes and Giants to improve the conference record for any tiebreakers. If there are multiple teams tied that becomes an important tiebreaker.

…which is why that packers game is our worst loss of the year right now.

Just bad luck Stafford was out in that one. Beat the Packers and we'd be sitting pretty. We still control our own destiny. GB is playing KC. I don't see GB winning that one. If we beat Cleveland we're in a 3 way tie for 2 spots owning a tiebreaker on one of the teams. Its all we can ask for. But lose Sunday and things will be tough. I do expect a loss against Baltimore. Fortunately it would not be a conference loss which is an important tiebreaker.

Playing the Lions in Detroit would be fun with all the stories involved and QBs.
But call me crazy, I’d rather take on the 9ers WC weekend. All the pressure on them, their house, etc. - we lose, whatever nobody at all is expecting a win. Almost a shock we get into playoffs.
But if we did beat them, wow that would on an epic level of pain to them.

Every week will be a dog fight.

Whether it's Flacco or DTR this weekend we should be at this team. Flacco hasn't really played this year and DTR is as bad as Walker. Ward is hurt, Wills is hurt, MLB is hurt and a huge list are in various stages of injury 16 of the 53 man roster many starters. No star RB and back up banged up we should win this we are healthy and keep spreading the ball around and establish Kyren. Just bc they have a great defense doesn't mean they win they have a shitty offense lead by the worst combo QB of all starters in the league.

If we win this weekend the next 5 weeks could be epic.

I'm just happy, as a Rams fan, that they still are in the playoff hunt. Stranger things have happened and you just never know (1969 Mets).

Rams vs Falcons in the NFCCG?

I'd need some of @Merlin's weed to imagine that possibility...

The Seahawks are 6-6 so if the Rams win they bump the Hawks because they swept them. The Rams are definitely in the hunt. They can afford to lose to the Ravens but if they sweep the rest they are in at 10-7. The only team they are outmatched with is Baltimore. The Rams played SF tough when they were raw. They will be a seasoned group in week 18. They definitely will go into that game with a chance.

I'm laughing a lot these days when I browse the NFL news. The media is slowly becoming aware that the Rams might actually make the playoffs. A team most felt before the season that would be picking in the top 5 in next year's draft. Hell even one site had the Rams trading up to get Penix.

Hard to know what to make of these bandwagoners. They obviously didn't know enough to seriously evaluate the team potential. A lot of fans believed these hacks actually know what they are talking about. Making the playoffs regardless of how deep they might go, would be a major validation that Snead knows exactly what he's doing. I like executives that can make hard choices. Remodelling or restructuring the team roster is more difficult than simply blowing it all up and starting clean sheet. It requires a GM that knows his roster both its strengths and weaknesses.

IMO Snead is the real prime mover of this franchise. Basically, it comes down to "in Snead I trust". This team has the foundation to make a legit Super Bowl run next year. Next year's draft will determine how long the Rams can keep that SB window open. The have foundational pieces on the roster in Nacua and Turner to step into Kupp and Donald's role should they retire in 2025 as I feel they will. What is lacking is the QB1 and I believe their plan has always been to grab one in the next draft and redshirt him for a year before starting him in 2025.

Tomlinson has upsides at CB but he's limited and at least a 3 year project. It's why I think they will take a CB, and OT fairly early (i.e. second and third round) with an edge in the 5th if they don't move up to get one earlier. I think next year's rookie class will be smaller. I expect the draft to be especially targeted so I can see Snead packaging his multiple 6th and 7th round picks to move up into the 5th round for an OT, DB or even edge.

The problem IMO with Hampton was that he was probably very raw and also needs to bulk up and strengthen. I think that Hampton is the targeted replacement for Rozeboom as he would bring greater flexibility in how he is used. He has the innate skills to play any of the LB positions. I think they will develop him as an off the LOS LB with the speed and length to cover and set the edge in a SAM or WIL role and as a rotational replacement for Young especially on early downs.

I think they will give Mathis a year to develop as a DE. He is more of the early down, edge setter type of DE.

Defensively I think the Rams look on the right track. IMO Witherspoon is a bridge player and they need to bring in a CB who can push to start opposite or eventually replace Witherspoon. I think they are good at safety with Lake and Yeast as well as perhaps Fuller.

These are some of the reasons I think this team can a legit run at a wildcard spot this year. Next year they will contend for the division. People don't know it but the Rams are back and it starts this season.

I would LOVE this scenario!
