Well if you look at the leaders in interceptions, there's Trevor Lawrence with 17 and Stafford with 15. That's where the argument ends for some people. Oddly enough the top 6 in TD passes are also in the top 11 for picks.

Stafford has 38 TDs/15 Ints.
Brady has 40 TDs/12 Ints
Herbert has 35 TDs/14 Int
Burrow has 34 TDs/14 Int
Mahomes has 35 TDs/13 Int

There are a couple names on that list that Ryan Clark "trusts" more than Matt Stafford. The fact of the matter is this. If you're safe with the ball and don't take chances downfield, you may have less interceptions than somebody who takes more chances downfield. Guys like Ryan Tannehill who has 17 TDs and 14 picks.

The leaders in pass plays of 40 yards or more? Stafford 17, Burrow 15, Herbert 13, Mahomes 10, Rodgers 10
The leaders in pass plays of 20 yards or more? Brady 69, Carr 65, Stafford 62, Burrow 60, Mahomes 56, Rodgers 53, Herbert 50

Take chances, make plays, throw TDs, get picked. Rodgers is different than most.
Ahh. Logic. A rarity in sports media.
Thanks PARAM.

Chart shows how well Rams have played relative to their schedule

The Los Angeles Rams have secured another double-digit win season under Sean McVay as they enter Week 18 with an impressive 12-4 record. It marks the fourth time in the past five years that the Rams have posted 10-plus wins.

Before this season began, Los Angeles possessed the 10th toughest schedule, with a combined record of 140-132 from their opponents in 2020. Despite having a grueling schedule against some of the elite teams in the NFL, how have the Rams handled themselves this season?

This chart goes to show that the Rams are one of the most well-rounded teams in the NFL, putting them in the same class as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Green Bay Packers, and the Arizona Cardinals (among others). Los Angeles is averaging the ninth-most points per game on offense (27.3) and is allowing 21.6 points per game on defense (17th in the NFL).

When it comes to DVOA, the Rams are the only team in the NFL to have a top-six offense and defense. Entering their Week 18 contest with the San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles has the No. 6 ranked offense in DVOA and the No. 5 ranked defense.

Playing in a competitive NFC West division presents plenty of challenges, having to face some of the best teams in the league six times a year. But even with a stiffer schedule, the Rams find themselves in the top tier of teams in points scored and allowed relative to their schedule.

It remains to be seen if the Rams can carry over this level of success into the playoffs.

We will never have another Andrew Whitworth. I feel very fortunate to have been able to cheer this dude on these past 5 years, and my respect for him is so high that in wanting him to get a ring (and for AD), it's a big part of what would make a championship even a little more special. There's a part of me that can't help but feel disappointed that his whole career wasn't in horns.

McVay is a brilliant dude and a great HC. But the leadership that came to the Rams with him that first season is a huge reason for the success of the past 5 years: Whitworth and Woods in free agency and Kupp in the draft. Thats the leadership core of this team. Talk about surrounding yourself with the right people!

Man I’m still thinking about that catch OBJ made on 4th down.
What a great comeback

I re-watched the end of the Ravens game several times last night. Incredible finish and that catch was super clutch. Fingertips and all. Big time play.

“The blessing in disguise,” Whitworth said, “over the last three weeks is we’ve got guys playing that never played. We’re relying on guys that we’ve never had to rely on before. There’s almost this adversity, this belief system of anybody can get in there and we can be okay. Then you get your guys back and you start getting stronger and there’s just this bond that’s bigger than whether or not one guy can do it. It’s made us have this little resolve that maybe we didn’t have as early in the year. We were a good team, but maybe something was missing. We’re more complete.”

@badnews you talk about Whitworth’s leadership… I grabbed this Whitworth quote from another thread (I think).

If you are a young player, he is a guy to listen to.

Has an alien taken over Foolio's body?

That is the first time I think I have ever agreed with a lot of what Foolio said.
They don’t take into account what McVay has told everyone. Someone ran the wrong route, most likely Beckham, most likely he was supposed to go down field to clear that area. And, no, no one read Stafford on a quick developing play to get that jump.

Beckham gets a break, he’s still learning, McVay should take the heat for not putting them in a better situation, Ravens get some praise for making the play.

On the deep ball, that’s all on Stafford, you just can’t throw into that coverage, ever.

On the fumble, Big Rob whiffed one of the few times this year, it happens. But, Stafford has to hold on to the ball regardless.

Yeah I agreed with that assessment on the 1st pass - that was not his fault

And yes - the other two were definitely his fault.

He had the ball before he fumbled but was trying to be a super hero and evade the rush and wasn't paying as much attention to holding the ball.

That should always be - make sure you are holding tight on the ball and then try to break free of the tackle.

Man I love listening to Kupp and Whit, those guys are the epitome of team players even though they are superstars.

Can’t argue with Dilfer’s take, both McVay and Stafford need to reign it in a little when it comes to play selection and protect others football.

I like is Joe Burrow comparison to Jim Kelly. Very spot on. Not a freak athlete, but a good athlete. Not a huge arm, but a very good one... And he looks he is always in command even at his young age. And he has swagger. And also that Burrow looks like a throwback QB to the 80's.

It looked like all 3 guys ran stop routes, it seems weird to have 2 let alone 3 guys within 5 yds of the los.
When you have young guys and new guys mistakes are going to happen and that’s worrisome.
