Until Stafford wins a Super Bowl with the Rams, he's going to have that "prove it" monkey on his back. What this is teaching McVay and his coaches is that:
1. They can come from behind and win.
2. They can win with a less than perfect Stafford.

IMO Stafford needs to play smarter. Don't throw into triple coverage....take the wide-open Jefferson and the first down. It's obvious that McVay has Matt reading from deep to short. No problem with that as long as he doesn't simply lock on to that deep throw exclusively not caring what the coverage is. Stafford must learn to take what is given and those deep strikes will come. Stafford's inconsistent play is a coaching issue. Matt has the talent and the experience to be a truly elite QB. But his fixation with deep throws at the expense of taking what is given is a legit concern and IMO it's a coaching issue. McVay made it clear with his handling of Goff he has no desire to coach up his QB. If there is a weakness in McVay that is it. He must rein in Stafford and get him to see he must change his style of play. The Rams will not make it through the playoffs if Stafford continues to spot the opposition easy points with his reckless play.
Thanks for all the bold font. I was just aimlessly scrolling through then I saw all this bolded font. I knew at that point it must be serious and important. So I read it and my life was changed. :fistbump1::zany1:

I gotta say if this team can make a run this year it's going to be sweeter than '99 for me due to the combined factor of silencing the fucking haters as well as seeing so many players I love getting their ring.

Get this done Rams. :fistbump1::sunglasses:
IDK, 99 was a magical year. Everything was unicorns, rainbows and butterflies and we hadn't been there in a long time.

AD alone makes it greater for me if/when it happens and it's not just him. I loved that team in '99 but didn't have as strong a connection to the players as I do with this roster. This is a special year in that way for me.

That tends to happen.

clark was making sense to me until he said joe burrow...
Well if you look at the leaders in interceptions, there's Trevor Lawrence with 17 and Stafford with 15. That's where the argument ends for some people. Oddly enough the top 6 in TD passes are also in the top 11 for picks.

Stafford has 38 TDs/15 Ints.
Brady has 40 TDs/12 Ints
Herbert has 35 TDs/14 Int
Burrow has 34 TDs/14 Int
Mahomes has 35 TDs/13 Int

There are a couple names on that list that Ryan Clark "trusts" more than Matt Stafford. The fact of the matter is this. If you're safe with the ball and don't take chances downfield, you may have less interceptions than somebody who takes more chances downfield. Guys like Ryan Tannehill who has 17 TDs and 14 picks.

The leaders in pass plays of 40 yards or more? Stafford 17, Burrow 15, Herbert 13, Mahomes 10, Rodgers 10
The leaders in pass plays of 20 yards or more? Brady 69, Carr 65, Stafford 62, Burrow 60, Mahomes 56, Rodgers 53, Herbert 50

Take chances, make plays, throw TDs, get picked. Rodgers is different than most.

burrow looks like he is going to be great... but clarks reasoning for doubting stafford is not much playoff experience - but then he said he trused burrow - who has zero playoff experience.

thats basically what didnt make sense to me.

December and the last four to five games of the season is a playoff atmosphere. Every team is jostling for position and seeding. For Ryan Clark to say that Stafford never had success in the playoff, he's got another thing coming.

The Rams got the momentum to ride all the way to the Super Bowl regardless of the result of what quarter they played in. The bottom line is when it's crunch time for the cream to rise to the top, the Rams got the determination and heart to rise to the ocassion and win it all this year.

There's no doubt about the Rams winning it all even though the game against the Ravens was like a roller-coaster ride.
He puts together a first half like that against any playoff team, they likely will lose.

True. But playoff intensity is different. The tides can turn quickly with a turnover here and there or a quick strike big play.
