I love having him on the team.
Hard to tell yet what is happening with Noteboom. Maybe Kromer just wants to see him in action after the injury. Maybe there's a feeling that, as a starter who lost his position due to injury, Noteboom deserves at least some opportunity to regain it even if only as a matter of professional respect or courtesy. Maybe he is just a backup at guard getting some reps. Or maybe Kromer just has more confidence in him as a starting guard than this board does.
Kromer has always switched up and crossed trained guys at different positions. You would think that he would do less of that this year and go straight to getting his starters ready at their established spots. But it's also true that training up the reserves is important, maybe more so with the threat of someone being sidelined at any time by a covid test.
Either way I'm glad to see Noteboom on the field and ready for competitive play. And I think Kromer knows what he is doing. If Noteboom is good enough to get a serious look at starting at guard again over others we expected - surprising as this may seem-- then this is a positive as far as I'm concerned.
This at least means we are going to have some strong depth on the o-line.
Update on kickers. McGinnis missed 2 out of 6 from 43 and Sloman 3 out of six. Lirim has the day off I'm told.
If that is true we should be in business. Having a guy like Edwards on the bench would be some great depth. Again, though, if it's true. Gonna have to see it with Boom and hope that's the case.Update: At his press conference McVay says he is "particularly impressed" with Corbett and Noteboom, then said Noteboom is looking "healthy, explosive, and strong." Also says Havenstein is back up to "outstanding" form. Whit is "really healthy."
Sounds like Noteboom and Corbett could really be our starting guards.
Yeah I have this terror kind of building in the back of my mind lol. We've always been so blessed with kickers though so maybe that continues.
Hopefully not the same thing he saw in Demby.Noteboom again @LG. What does Kromer see that we fans don't? After six games of getting manhandled and ending with an injury requiring surgery, Kromer really expects Noteboom to play better? Or are all the others that bad?
Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over with the same result.
"HE A MF DAWG!!" Like this a lot coming from Ramsay. Think this is more than just talking up Akers as another FSU guy.

Well to be fair, a lot of people were ready to give up on Goff at around the same amount of games played as Noteboom.Yeah I've seen enough of him at guard as well. Haven't heard Edwards name called so he may be dinged. At least that's what I'm hoping lol.
Idk. First team reps this earlyThe only thing I can come up with is Kromer wants to make sure Noteboom is NOT the guy to start at LG, and the earlier the better to move on with someone else.
What you're talking about is development, and that isn't allowed anymore.
And I'm being serious, in fans/media view, if a player doesn't provide instant gratification he sucks and shouldn't play.
