We've lost three games due to poor o line play and incredibly bad play calling, and I don't see it changing anytime soon. So, we might not win another game this year.
Next year's draft will either save or kill McSneads tenure going forward.
I would sign right now for that.

Anything is possible but the Rams would still be down by one game and have still got the 49ers, Ravens, and Cleveland coming up, too.

Stafford > Rypien

Just making sure you’re aware.

While that may be true, Stafford is averaging 1 TD a game. (Unless you count a TD thrown to the opposing team)

Not sure 7 more points should have gotten us the 17 we needed.

After beating Seattle so soundly, my theory was that, due to our youth and superior coaching, our young team of improbables we put together on the cheap (because McSnead is just more savvy at talent searching and acquisition) will catch on, grow, gel, and improve more rapidly than the rest of the league, becoming a dominant force that will be formidable for years to come; choke on it it all you Rams-bought-their-SB losers! Yeah that theory sucked.

Oh, please. In games Stafford started and finished, we’re averaging 22.1 ppg.

That first game after the bye against the Seahawks will be very revealing. Hopefully we play a good game and win. If they look lost again then it's over.

You can thank Kyren for those inflated numbers.

I’m Staffords last 17 games, he has 4100 yards (great), 18 TDs to 15 ints.

Stafford would be a backup on most playoff caliber teams with those numbers. In fact, his 17 game TD stat is about to get passed by a rookie.

Don’t get me wrong, when he’s hot, he’s top 5.

The problem is he hasn’t been hot in two years. We can make all the excuses in the world, but the bottom line is he isn’t winning and he’s not putting the ball in the endzone.

I remember watching that Texans comeback game at the bar-- the one where Fitzmagic was born. I think I was the lone Rams fan there and everyone was congratulating me for hanging in to the end. :laugh1:

I completely disagree with you.

And that’s fine. I would absolutely LOVE to be proven wrong. It’s just that it’s the second season of the same shit. He’s played average to below average in a majority of the games. I don’t think he’s necessarily holding the team back (as Rypein demonstrated), but I also don’t believe he’s the difference maker he was in ‘21

And the crap O line has nothing to do with the below average QB play? Not to mention the struggle to run the ball?

I’m not saying they don’t contribute, but I’m also not saying that excuse is being used as a crutch to prop Matthew up. He’s played extremely average even when he was still healthy and everyone on this board (myself included) was praising the line the first couple of weeks of the season.

I said it b4 but you're very optimistic. I don't see another w on the schedule and yes I'm rooting for the draft pick at this point.

Seattle has been playing better than they did in week one, and the Rams have been playing worse. It seems to me that the league quickly caught onto what McVay was doing offensively, that got the best of the Seahawks and Colts.

The Rams are not as successful with all of the in-breaking routes and the bunches. They have been passing to the sidelines much more. Teams started playing with an extra DB to make it four on three with the bunch concepts, and it killed what made the offense look so good early on.

I wish that Higbee was playing better or that Allen could step up and McVay would mix in more tight end usage. It would counter how defenses are playing the Rams. McVay’s unwavering belief in his offense, even if it’s not working, has always baffled me. He just continues to say that it comes down to execution. I clear and dominant deep threat would make a difference in this offense if McVay continues to stick to his system.
And how about more 12 personnel…

It'd be the best irony - to be tied w/Seattle - - yet ahead on the head-to-head wins!!!:laugh2:

I will always pull for the Rams to win and never want to see them tank for the #1 pick but I am a competitive person by nature. I have gone crazy immediately after some of our recent losses but I truly love the Rams and have all my life. I remember the year they loss to the Cowboys in the NFC championship my Dad told my Mother that I would probably quit school, well the next day I was back home. Thankfully, I later went on to finish College. My point is we have to realize when we are getting carried away with our negativity and reel ourselves in. I have found that after a loss and then going on the vent threat taking a few days off from the board helps me. I appreciate being reeled in when I begin to go off the rails. I love my brothers on this board although sometimes we disagree but our love for the Rams is what brings us all together.

It's really not accurate to say "You can thank Kyren" for the points.

In the first game Stafford threw for like 340 yards - we had 3 rushing touchdowns - two of them that were 1 yard rushes.

So, most of the production was from the passing game.

Same in the 49ners game.

I'll agree Stafford has to play more consistently.
