Jefferson's highlights from college...5th rounder that the Seahawks traded up for last year.. was hurt last year, carried over into camp and never got going to get a chance to make roster. Article I saw stated the Seahawks would bring him back, but they did not expect him to clear waivers.

Small for the interior and lacking core power and body control. High cut with bad weight around his midsection. Might not be able to carry enough "good weight" for the position. In need of better angles with his backside blocks. Unable to lockout defender and hold his ground.

One of the top offensive linemen in the Pac-12 couldn't find a place on the all-conference squad this season because a leg injury ended his senior year after five games. Dielman, the cousin of former NFL lineman Kris Dielman, was a team captain and started at center for the Utes in 2016 after starting all 26 games in 2014 and 2015 at the right tackle spot. J.J. (which stands for Jeffrey Joseph) was a second-team All-Pac-12 pick as a junior. The Arizona high school all-state pick redshirted his first year in Salt Lake City and played in one game as a reserve in 2013 before becoming a fixture on Utah's line.
ANALYSIS

Has three years of experience at right tackle to go along with his newfound snaps at center. Has quick feet and good flexibility through his hips. Possesses desired body control. Talented work-up blocker who finds his second-level targets and strikes with accuracy. Can get to the difficult angles. Will work to bend knees after engagement to improve his leverage. Quick to flip hips and wall off his man. Works well with guards in handoff on combo blocks. Plays with good determination and effort. Rides the bull as long as he can after engaging with bigger defenders. Has tackle feet to mirror pass rushers along interior.

OVERVIEW
A highly regarded high school recruit from Pennsylvania, Jefferson's career got off to a shaky start. His jaw was broken during a fight back home, putting off the beginning of his workouts with teammates. He came back, though, to play in nine games as a reserve (13 tackles) as a true freshman. Finally healthy and familiar with the defensive scheme, he started all 13 games in 2013 (45 tackles, 7.5 for loss, three sacks). Looking to build upon that performance, Jefferson started three games in 2014 (eight tackles, one for loss) but suffered a torn right ACL against West Virginia. He came back with a vengeance for his redshirt junior year, earning honorable mention All-Big Ten honors with 12.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, interceptions, and a blocked kick. The father of three then decided it was time to move on to the next level instead of returning to Maryland for his fifth campaign with the Terps.

He must immediately join their 53-man roster; he cannot be moved to a practice squad if claimed. So the Rams three are on the 53 man roster.
So who gets cut?
I feel pretty good about getting Dielman. As posted, Bengals wanted to put him on their PS. I just watched some of the Bengals/Colts match-up on Gamepass and particularly watched for Dielman. Now--of course he was playing against back-ups but I thought he looked pretty good at center. Decent size, moves well--maybe needs to add a little strength but looked very comfortable to me. I just watched from about the second series through the 3rd quarter. For anyone who wanted to watch--he comes in around the second series for the Bengals of the second half and wears #64.
Agree on Blythe, but I'm betting Walker stays and LTP is released and again JMHO.

I really like this guy at Center...I'm sure some of the O_line guys in here will too...Something about those Ute's...they were turning into a nasty bunch...It's how I happened to see Bolles...Who should be a good one as well for the Broncos...But athletic...nasty....and was pretty strong to me...and has a body type that says he will get stronger. Just think, it was thought he also had Lis Franc injury on his foot...and he's already playing...
