His contract video said it all. His heart was in LA but his Dad and agent told him his brain needs to choose the money.
I agree but I would love to know what the “Real-$” was that the Rams offered. Expect Miller to pocket between $45-$50M over the next three seasons.

Someone here needs to get on the phone with Demoff, Pastoors or Snead. Inquiring minds want to know!

Personally, I think that Von may have miscalculated how much the AD effect could've impacted his career. Now in Buffalo he will be the man marked for double teams and chip blocks by the opponent instead of AD. He will no longer have someone else to take the brunt of the offensive game plans.
I truly believe that AD could have added some quality years to Miller's career by reducing his wear and tear.
Whether that would be sufficient to balance out the dollars of his Buffalo contract is the topic for another day.

Von is a badass but yeah I have to agree this is getting ridiculous. Tired of players acting like it isn't the money. It's the fucking money.

AD pulled the same shit. You can admit it. Most fans get it and understand it.

Matthews wasn't bad as a pass rusher for us, but man he was terrible against the run ... rushed himself right out of so many plays.
Exactly. He was a liability in the run game. I think he was too intoxicated with how easy it was to get upfield with AD taking 2-3 blockers out of the equation on so many plays.

Interesting.

While he was trying to convey a desire to take on a new challenge of getting another team over the hump, his specific mention of AD seems to reveal something else. When you’re used to being “the guy,” it’s tough to accept being number two.

Be careful what you wish for, Von… the “Donald effect” is real (ask Clay Matthews, Dante Fowler or Leonard Floyd).

Yep, I alluded to the possibility he wants to be seen as the top dog several weeks ago. I think it’s true. It’s all he’s known for quite a while now. It’s ok though. He’s a me not we guy.

If you watch AD on the ‘I am athlete’ podcast, he says that in the end it’s a business. He says it more than once.

What I think happens for some players is that with their first team is about fun and passion. But once the contract is nearly up their agents start telling them it’s business and you gonna be rich!. Then players start seeing $$$

For us fans it's sport and entertainment, for players, it's about what each of them feel, all different, but it has to be partly about the money

Also - pretty sure the Rams don’t sign Wagner if Miller was signed. Looking forward to a massive improvement at ILB with Miller and Jones. I don’t recall the Rams ever having 2 at this level.

99% of us would have probably signed with Buffalo too in that situation. They ponied up the bucks and they're a legit contender.

That said I do think he's a completely different dude away from the cameras. Von could be an honorary sailor IMO. I suspect he's dirty as fuck. Might be why I like him. :laugh4:

Agreed. I think Robinson got the Von contract. Which lead to Woods getting traded and opening up Wagner signing.

So it was Von + woods versus Wagner + Robinson. I think we ended up better off overall.

No hard feelings to Von, great player, great for us, but it seems like he's constantly trying to validate his choice to leave publicly.
