The thing that makes me nervous about this game is the Vikings will fix their issues by next Monday. Every team has a terrible game and that game just have might have been theirs this year. Make no mistake their coaching staff is top notch and they will make their adjustments.

The key to this game is two fold. Getting at Darnold, and our offense at least putting up 27.

I'm gonna stuff my armpits with some paper towels because I'm gonna be sweating like a fat man eating gumbo mid July in Louisiana

McVay mentions Chris Petersen around @14:25 and says "we talked about it, Jourdan".

(1) I'm guessing this is former Boise and UW coach?
(2) Let's rev up the speculation machine about what they talked about. Remember McVay's issues with work-life balance? Coach Petersen talked about his struggles:
"The job felt like it was becoming very restrictive and narrow to me and I wasn't enjoying the part of this process that I really needed to embrace."
"This job is so 24/7, 365 and it is hard to build in recovery skills and I just didn't have that. I didn't have someone to talk to, I didn't have recovery skills. So it was a long eight years as a head coach of taking calls every day on vacation of something going on in the program. There is no time down."
I get to the end of year five and I'm starting to have those same feelings because I never really got healthy enough. I didn't have a great game plan for my life, on how I wanted my life to be. I didn't have great self-talk, I didn't have great recovery skills...

Edit: Really good hour interview with Coach Petersen about program building and player/person evaluation and stuff.

Yea it was bad. I really want to believe in our offense to win the gm for us but they've been really inconsistent this season and the hope is they're on in the playoffs. My gut is telling me our defense is gonna have to continue to win gms for us with that being said.
it could get ugly.

Hey, just asking if these wild fires this week in Pacific Palisades, affects the Rams practices? Not being familiar with LA, was just curious if this impacts the Rams organization and the players?
The Palisades fire is on the coastal side of the Santa Monica Mountains and South, Southwest of Woodland Hills which is on the Valley side of those mountains. With the winds coming out of the Northeast the flames and smoke are blowing away from Woodland Hills and the practice facility. That being said I’ve heard reports of evacuations starting in Calabasas which is on the valley side of the mountains and right next to Woodland Hills. There is also a fire burning in Altadena and another one has popped up in Sylmar both of which are Northeast of Woodland Hills and while both are too far to put Rams camp in danger they both most certainly will affect the air quality.

The other thing that will affect practice are the winds which are the strongest they’ve been in years.

Not a good matchup for the Rams. Vikings can stop the run. Stafford hasn't looked great lately.
Yeah, it's not going to be easy. They've held teams under 4.0 ypc 10 times in 17 games. And in those 10 games, they also held teams to under 200 yards passing 4 times. Looking at the first matchup, they held the Rams to 3.3 ypc (we ran 32 times for 107) and gave up 279 yards through the air. We had 4 TD drives (all passing TDs) that began at our 30.

Our D gave up 2 TD drives on the Vikings first 2 possessions, then buckled down, allowing 138 yards on their next 7 possessions and 2 FGs. Both sides of the ball are gonna have to be on top of their game for sure. But it's possible.

Yeah I agree whole heartedly. This isn't even a Jimmy vs Stafford debate, but as backup if Stafford gets an unfortunate injury I am happy asf we have Jimmy Bluepill instead of Wolford, Bennett, or whatever other nonsense we've had back there recently! He's at least capable.
Jimmy is probably the best backup QB in the whole playoffs.

Couldn’t disagree more. The Rams have been the better team over the last 10 weeks per DVOA. Also teams have not played well in the games after they played Detroit this year. Also not worried about Stafford one bit. He’s gonna ball out.

It seems to me the defense has gotten off to a slow start in most of the games this season. I would like to see the Vikings go 3 and out on their first series.
