The weak ass refs that jobbed us repeatedly Sunday night definitely influenced the outcome of the game with blatantly wrong calls.

Did you see the highway robbery shit last night? Click over if necessary because this needs to be seen by everyone.

FUCKING BULLSHIT beyond belief. The league has a massive problem.

Yeah that was bad. Sean McVay is apparently on one of the committees that came up with this taunting flags.

Ridiculous.

Having said that, the Steelers almost choked in the end. So to their credit did overcome it. The last drive was all the Bears' fault. Line up correctly. Jeez.

yeah the taunting focus was a bad fucking decision.....

It really surprises me to hear that McVay is on a committee that came up with the taunting flags, although in his defense, that doesn't mean he's responsible for the final decision. But I still remember that ridiculous taunting penalty against TruJo when they played Philly in McVay's first year after Johnson made a play against Alshon Jeffrey (who agreed that TruJo wasn't taunting). It's calls such as that which are ruining the product, as they rely on unrealistic expectations of a person's ability to play an emotional game without showing emotion.

its also putting more judgement in the hands of the officials -which we dont need.

Unbelievable that a ref, the head official on a Monday night game would think this behavior is acceptable.

I just hope two straight prime time games where game announcers were openly mocking the officials and every sports show I've listened to so far have openly complained about them is enough to finally make the NFL realize they need to change this crap sooner than later. It's just ridiculous.

Remember when the refs went on strike and they brought in the replacements?

Yeah, that was bad. :wow2:

Wondering if anyone has a post to one of the casts where Eisen, McAfee, etc talk about the week 9 officiating. It's gonna happen

The Ref who backed into Marsh to create contact shouldn't be allowed on the field again this season.

Was listening to the nfl channel this morning and there's two problems with this particular incident in the video. The first, most obvious is the ref hip checking the player. The ref should be demoted, suspended, I don't care... Marsh has a point that if it was him doing it to the ref he'd be ejected, fined, and possibly suspended. Same should happen to a ref.

The other, as mentioned by others already, is that the refs explanation for throwing the flag was that Marsh proceeded to "run toward the bench area of the Steelers and posture in such a way that I felt he was taunting".

That's the problem. Making a ref interpret body language of a person and the severity of it. Ridiculous.

Taunting is dumb, suffer through 2021. They surely aren’t dumb enough to keep this rule next year

Also, sorry for spam posting, I think the harshness of the penalty is way too much. It would still be ridiculous being that it is subjective to how a ref feels but it certainly shouldn't be a 15 yard penalty. If the NFL HAS to have this stupid rule than make it a 5 yard penalty from the line of scrimmage as of the end of the play (so not a replay of down). It's a slap on the wrist but not a guaranteed, possibly game changing rage inducing shit show that it is now.

3rd down and 10... stop the team and get a taunting penalty on defense it's then 4th and 5. If you get one on offense after getting a first down you just start as a 1st and 15 instead of bring the play all the way back.

Like I said, still a dumb rule but at least then it wouldn't be so ridiculous.

Honestly, in this day and age, why can't every call be quickly reviewed by the guys in NY? There is 10 views of every play that can be reviewed rather quickly by someone in a office. Why is the goal not to get EVERY call 100% correct? They have the ability to do just that, but choose not to. Why is that?

I think they are and are picking and choosing how “they” want the scenario to play out.

Christ that is really bad, the NFL really needs to get this shit in control, or players/coaches need to start speaking out.

If all the star players and coaches spoke out the NFL wouldn't have the balls to fine/suspend them all, so use that power to call them out for this bullshit. They're legitimately ruining the spirit of the game if my opinion.

Bears got f'd last night and that's all there is to it. Bitch ass refs. The no-call late hits on Justin Fields were tough to watch, even got someone that has no vested interest in either team.
