Verse can get to the QB, but he's been inconsistent against the run and misses tackles. Fiske has been a huge disappointment so far. He does nothing but gets pushed around—can't get to the QB and can't stop the run. Anytime the defense allows 174 rushing yards in one game and 231 in the next, you know for a fact your front four is struggling badly.
The latest stats don't support your analysis for either player vs the pass or run. They are certainly leaving too many chances un-taken, making mistakes, etc, but your eyeball estimates are way off, imo.
And citing run numbers out of the context of those being the first two games of these guys' careers & when so much went wrong around them is illogical at best. If you note that the Rams D has allowed 137, 131, 126 , 122 vs the run in the following 4 games, your stats seem even more like borderline troll sour cherry picking.
Our win rate metrics stack the NFL's best run-blocking, run-stopping, pass-protecting and pass-rushing players and teams.
