I think it is important to note, we only see these players a few plays, against ather players not making their teams. They see them study, work out, interact with the players and coaches and above all, They see them in practice, working against our best. So to think you know better than the coaches and snead is rediculas.

I believe most of ROD is well aware of this, and we are at an extreme disadvantage, but we do have eyes on those few moments we actually do get to see them live in action on TV, and formulating opinions on what we see is rather natural. When many on this fan site express similar thoughts on a few individuals, whether performing better or worse than might be expected, we take notice. That in no way implies that we are somehow better than Rams management at filling the roster, in fact it seems rather silly to have to make this comment to you or others who would seem to want to stifle conversation on a web site dedicated towards the discussion of our favorite sports team. jmo.

Well. I just thought it is ridiculous to get worked up about. In no way am I suggesting we shouldn't have opinions on the players, or be suprized by a cut. I should have specified.

We didn’t use Kelly very much last year when we kept just three RBs, I believe. How much playing time would McCoy get here really?
I don't disagree, ultimately, but I wouldn't think they would be replacing Kelly's playing time, but instead they would be replacing CJ Anderson's.

It's OK to vent as fans. As a Rams fan I have done more venting over the last 40 years than I care to remember. I chose to to not vent with this team. It's an amazing time to be a Rams fan when we are are arguing about losing depth on the roster. Let's GOOOOOO!!!!!!

Unless I hear about @jrry32 suffering a cardiac arrest over Jachai Polite being released, I don't believe anyone here is getting too worked up over these results.

But when we lost Gurley and Brown last year Kelly did not get the call.

Los Angeles Rams: 53-man roster surprises

Did your favorite player in the preseason make the LA Rams? Probably not, unless you’ve been stanning Nsimba Webster. So, what were the shockers from cut day?

The front office for the Los Angeles Rams made a statement on Saturday with their 53-Man roster for the 2019 regular season: they were not a fan of their draft class last year. The only draft pick that played any significant role last season in his rookie year was DL John Franklin-Myers and well, let’s just get to the surprises, shall we?

CUTS

DL John Franklin-Myers
This move was a shocker. However, maybe we should have known that something wasn’t safe about his roster spot because he actually played in the preseason. Even after a productive rookie season, there was still something that DL John Franklin-Myers wasn’t putting together for Wade Phillips and company.

Franklin-Myers had such a presence in the Super Bowl that fans of other teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Arizona Cardinals are jumping up and down to sign him (which rarely happens, but go off).

RB John Kelly
RB John Kelly had some moves, but his pass-protection was lacking. If you were reading the tea leaves, it was easy to see that he wasn’t picking up the offense enough to play a role once RB Todd Gurley II went down last season and RB C.J. Anderson was brought in. Still, Rams fans expected Kelly to be the fourth RB. Surprise!

LB Dakota Allen
Of all of the cuts, this one stung the most for fans who actually watched all of the preseason games in a hope of finding a replacement for injured ILB Micah Kiser. LB Dakota Allen was a 7th-round pick with some baggage and a reality show on his resume, but he also seemed to have an incredible amount of potential playing against the scrubs from the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Texans. I really thought this guy was going to make the team and actually provide some help with the run defense.

WR Khadarel Hodge
This cut feels more like a move that is connected to the special teams unit and Coach John Fassel wanted someone else instead of Hodge in that spot.

DB Kevin Peterson
The defensive backs for the LA Rams are very deep and DB Kevin Peterson did his best to break through his two interceptions, but in the end it wasn’t enough.

MADE THE 53-MAN ROSTER

WR Nsimba Webster
This feels like a John Fassel pick even though WR Nsimba Webster also showed that he has a knack for getting open on routes. I wouldn’t expect to see QB Jared Goff throwing spirals to him during the season (unless something terrible happens), but I could definitely see Webster taking some kickoff returns.

ILB Troy Reeder
ILB Troy Reeder is mostly known by Rams fans as the guy who got ejected in week 2 of the preseason for a dirty hit on Dallas Cowboys QB Cooper Rush. While Rams fans were salivating over LB Dakota Allen, it seems like Rams coaches were more impressed with Reeder during practices and meetings.

ILB Travin Howard
The 7th-round pick from TCU had a hell of a preseason and I’ve been rooting for this guy to make the team. What’s really the surprise here is that there are four inside linebackers on the roster right now. That’s pretty slim. Will Reeder and Travin Howard be playing a lot? Is LB Bryce Hager a starter? What’s going on?
So, we have ourselves a team that’s going to travel to Charlotte to play the Carolina Panthers.
One thing that won’t be a surprise? Any of these players affecting the outcome in Carolina. However, stranger things have happened.
Now bring on week 1!!!

Vent? Over what? That our team is one of the best in the league and that we’ve been getting better every year McVay has been coach so far? I remember the dark days and we are in the best hands. Trust in McVay and Snead.

Honestly dudes... When posters want to vent away in a VENT thread is it really necessary to try to censor things? Let them blow off some steam Jesus.

I guarantee that anyone who is irritated with today's cuts (myself included) is well effin aware that we are in a golden era. Cut them a break ffs.

Right on. I think our team is solid and don’t think the cuts are gonna affect us as much as some of you think. Carry on.

I'm actually pretty amused by how many of our posters got their panties in a twist over a satirical 'vent' thread. I started it based on a bit of sarcasm offered up by @Farr Be It in the Thursday 'Rams at Texans Preseason 4' thread. He mentioned : “I’m looking for the vent thread”. So I decided this would be a fun place to have one based on all the pre-season prognostications & opinions. The reactions are rather priceless, and went pretty much as expected imo.

Right on lol. But I think it was a good idea given how irked some of us were by the cuts. I actually stayed away earlier because I didn't want to rant on here even in a vent thread.

IMO though you see that stuff a lot after games, dudes go into the vent thread to vent and other posters engage with thoughtfulness and intelligence... Which doesn't really need to be in a vent thread, let the natives go apeshit who cares.

I try to treat these threads and gameday threads like being at a bar. I'll see fans overreacting over little things and laugh about it, maybe even overreact a bit myself.

I want to know how you know what underwear other posters wear. (for the record, I like boxers. Big fan of swinging as freely as practical)

It's just a little bit creepy. How are you spying on them? And so what, if they wear panties?

Polite got cut? Interesting. Must have been his attitude. I'd take a shot on him.

I simply made an assessment that those who got twisted must be of the panty wearing sort.

not really surprised about the cuts except one, JFM. I know that he didn't dominate when he was playing against backups. That was very concerning. Maybe he didn't put in the time this offseason. I'm glad that Kolone got cut. We need a backup at C

We cut JFM? Interesting. Didn't expect that. Must have been something going on behind the scenes.
