Well, he made it 8 games before this debate started.. again.. That tells me he is the best QB we have had in years.

How many times has he turned over the ball outside of the GB game? Do you guys really think our backups are going to be able to take a beating and hold onto the ball like he has? Think about all the fumbles, not to mention the INTs that we would see with some other guys under center. Just imagine our offense if it was this bad, but had 2-3 turnovers every game.

I would love to see him play better, and I'm not about to say he's playing great, but he is at least doing what we need him to do. We had a chance to win this game and the fact we didn't is not on him at all..

IMO

Forget a real QB. We need a real coaching staff, preferably one not stuck in the 80s. Kick Fisher to the curb. Keep Snead and Demoff, and get a damn coach who wants to play modern fucking football. Who's that guy on the Giants? McAdoo? Why not him?

You guys have a pretty good team. I don't think Foles is the answer at QB however. And you need someone else beside Austin and Gurley to step up. You just won't win that way.

BTW, how did you like our over rated defense?
Your defense was good and played well.....but our offense isn't exactly the most potent in the league and we were missing our RT.

The run blocking was atrocious today. Gurley had nowhere to go and Foles missed some big throws downfield.

The only thing I can say it thank god we play the Bears next week. Cause we badly need a beat down to fix our passing game. I don't think Foles is very good either. Stafford would be much better.

Need an OL
OC needs to adjust and STOP calling the same plays. Why never quick slants inside?
Desperate need of an OL. Gurley had no holes and Foles is getting beat up. Pathetic.
Is Greg Robinson playing well at all?

When Stafford isn't asked to throw 45 times a game, he's actually pretty solid. I'd take him over the other three no doubt.

I'd take Stafford in a NY second, the only problem he's had is playing for the Lions.

I don't like Foles play but from what I saw Keenum isn't an answer. We forget Foles still hasn't started enough games for us to say this is what you get. I agree the protection has been good enough but maybe when the line improves a bit more it will give Foles that extra half tick he needs to succeed and see the field and make the right reads. We have to roll with him the rest of the year than re-evAluate the position and our options moving forward.

I think Stafford potentially is someone to look at. He and Detroit seem headed for a clean break. Outside of Newton he probably has the strongest arm in the league, and would automatically make this team more threatening in the vertical passing game.

A lot of us have been trying to give him time and the benefit of the doubt. We wanted it to work, so we became a bit wilfully blind to his faults for a while. It wears thin though. That's where I'm at now. Sure he's better than Clemens and Hill. That's not a high bar to pass however.

Great post, and I remember while Austin Davis and Shaun Hill were making some plays, it was their turnovers late in the game that absolutely killed this Rams team. Foles may not be playing well right now, but to say he is losing us games is absurd. Team sport, people.

We need to get the WRs involved... Foles seems to be serviceable at hitting what he sees, like back shoulder throws, but isn't getting the ball into windows where a little air is needed. We have Baily, but we're just not using him... The play calling was overly simplistic. It just seems like we're not helping Foles out much... or maybe Foles just doesn't see the field well... I don't know...

That late hit was pretty bad. Joyner could have easily pulled off. That said, this is still football and that's going to happen. If the NFL is serious about player safety though, he should be suspended a game and fined.

And why in the world did we get rid of Austin Davis? I still don't understand that one, although I'm thinking it was because the team didn't want to hear us fans calling for Austin Davis should we end up in the position we are in right now...

Our #1 goal this offseason was to make the QB position more competitive. We didn't do that. That said our FO is better than it has been in YEARS...

That game was a test for us... we played better than I thought we would given that we like to fold against out of conference teams with a running game... but still, if we were a contender we would have won that game...

In summary; we don't seem to be playing to win outright - at least not on offense.

I am left wondering whether our poor history has made us comfortable with mediocrity???

I'm glad this is the vent thread. How did you like our defense? How about LaMarcus Joyner? Big fan of his?
