Look I dont know where you live or if you've been to a game or not.

Complain about the fans all you want but hopefully you get yourself to a game at SoFi, or else really you have little to complain about...

Case rested.
Where I live and whether I've been to a game is completely irrelevant, but an understandable diversion tactic from someone trying to avoid the real issue.
Its an embarrassment

Again, be part of the Solution, not the Problem.

Ill take if you've never been a game at SoFi.

You should get out there, WONDERFUL venue to see a game. I guess that's why everyone wants to go there....

It is on my bucket list but losing my job will probably take me awhile to be able to afford going there

I'll say this too...McVay is wasting Higbeast. We know he's a great blocker...but he's also a very good receiver.

I know he missed a deep pass that was gonna get him killed...but for the most part. They needed to have him block and release some. I don't know how many times I saw the middle of Pittsburgh's defense wide open. That was where Higbeast could have feasted!!!

McVay needs to dust off the 2017-2018 play book and get some creativeness to this offense again.

this.

If the 2017-2018 QB "limited" what McVay really wanted to do with his offense, perhaps it was for the best and McVays tendencies and 16's perceived limits were good counters to each other? Having a QB who can do it all with his arm talent, toughness and will to win doesn't mean you should make that your entire identity as an offense.

What once looked inventive, fast and even easy has for years now looked blunt, clunky and more difficult- even our SB champs offense never really looked like a well oiled machine...

No. Higs is who he is: a good all-around TE who is going to come up short if you put too much pass game responsibility on him.

I get that everyone here thinks they know better than McVay about everything. This is a fan thing and I am also guilty of it. But when it comes to the fucking pass game I guarantee McVay knows what he's doing. Which includes Higbee usage in the pattern.

In McVay's first three years though he was good for 2-3 chunk catches a game. Timed right he was a great supplement to everything else they did.

And of course he 'brokeout' in 2019 when he got fed consistently down the stretch that year.

I'd settle for the former at this point.

Point is acting like McVay is squandering some great talent in Higs is ridiculous. I think we need to stay out of fantasy land in our venting to some extent.

I agree with most of what you're saying but the first part somewhat contradicts the second part.
Higbee by season's end year in and year out is completely dinged up and yet here we are with him handling 95% of the snaps, at times in an inline role.
He may be a genius, but he surely isnt managing Higbee's participation all that well.
Never understand how a guy who cut his teeth in an offense with 3 TE sets is comfortable with just 1

Stafford is playing worse than Goff did when we shipped him off. Maybe the offense that worked 2 years ago (that McVay tried to implement with Goff) just isn’t actually that good in comparison to the years leading up to that? Especially when you consider the all-star lineup we had on both sides of the ball for the Super Bowl win.

Someone said it’s time to dust off the old playbook…

It’s true. The consistently good offense that McVay made his name with needs to come back.

I think that falls more on the roster build side of the house dieter. The problem is they have missed and missed on TE picks. It's a position that, much like RB, they have positioned themselves to be in the same state year to year.

And of course TE is hard to find where they've drafted but still they need to go back to the drawing board at TE and RB and do a better job in this next draft. Also and btw that was a great draft obviously. But clearly they have to unfuck their scouting and evaluation at those two positions and do better I think.

There might be some truth to this. As with most things, the real truth probably lies in the middle of the new "rhythm passing game" Daryl Johnston kept saying "Can't be stopped" on the telecast, and this old dusted off playbook of McVay's.

When the timing is off (even just a little), you get picks and intentional groundings. And timing is tough when a guy's been out for as long as Kupp has and your WR2 is a rookie.

Have to mix in something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.

I can't agree. At this point Higbeast is being used to pass protect...and that's why McVay doesn't target him much. He loves the chunk yards down the field...but isn't the point to keep your drive going?

I agree he should help blocking that way...but slip the guy out. Allow him to engage and release and get him the ball...let him get the yac!

I dont know about that, they just dont play any TE's. Why Hopkins is still on the team is baffling. Everett was a raw prospect and hit the ground running. Now we have guys with tons of NCAA experience, and they cant see the field. And ultimately, they keep adding the same guy, the guy who has had some success catching the ball in NCAA, but has blocking issues. Its like they dont consider TE2 an actual position. Frustrating

Rams could use an expert outside assessment.

Just a set of eyes to tell them what they may not be seeing about themselves and the program.
