Straight up this loss was a nutt punch. Have I lost faith in the team this year? Yes. Not sure why McVay sat Jackson and Adams. He's playing 5d chess when he just has to play checkers. I don't get it .

Smith had a good game which would have been phenomenal had Stafford hit him in stride when he was wide open at the end - but I’m not getting why Atwell wasn’t targeted more. His one target he beat the defender but was denied when he grabbed his arm (blatant interference that must have been seen but not called). Still wonder what did he to do to get in McVays doghouse.

Now... about those unbelievable bad calls against the Rams.

That was 100% an amazing catch by Nucua at the end of the game.

That was absolutely defensive holding against Tutu Atwell on that bomb.

I saw three obvious holding calls against the Falcons that weren't called.
And the one call where the defensive player fell down in front of Humphries was absolutely NOT holding, (though Humphries looked pretty damn rusty).
Quisenberry couldn't look much worse could he?

He really isnt. Karty lost all confidence and could not be trusted on any kicks. Harrison Mevis is a mediocre kicker and gets shaky when at 50 yards, only hitting at that range went at Sofi. Those are not the stats of a kicker who is a force multiplier on offense, hence why McVay is opting to go for it. Especially considering that the Rams will be traveling during the entire duration of their playoff campaign.
Disagree. I'd say that on most of the times McVay has gone for it on 4th down analytics seems to suggest that's the move to make at the time.

They sat because the playoffs are more important and we saw what happens if Jackson is not available. So he sat him so can be 100% healthy.

3 weeks ago Rams were #1 seed in NFC and had visions of Atlanta’s pick being top 5
Well, here we are….
There was really never a chance for Atlanta’s pick being top 5 because they play in a trash division and the top 5 was locked up pretty quickly by the Raiders, Giants, Jets, Cardinals, Titans, Browns and Commodes. The pick could potentially have been between 8-10 but now more likely the lower teens. Falcons had too much talent to fall that far. If Penic stays healthy they might have won that crappy division.

Also we got bailed out because of the offsides penalty, but what’s been up with some of the errant shotgun snaps recently? It’s become a thing over the last few weeks.

When you're in field goal range and you're only down 7 to nothing.
That's some pretty crazy analytics! ;)

We've been talking about this since the offseason. Our corners fucking suck.
Yeah, I will have zero faith if the other team gets the ball last in the playoffs and we need a stop. The pass rush is just not there right now. Need to start adding some blitz packages. With this offense, I would rather give up a quick score than a 9 minute drive and score that keeps our offense on the bench and out of sync.

The last pick by Watts was big because it changed the time/ possession sequence. We stopped them, but then we had it where the Rams last score still left time on the clock for Atlanta. Had the pick not happened and the Rams still score, then there is enough time for the Rams to get the ball last.

When McVay said all those great things after the Seattle loss I wonder if he really believed it or was it just coach speak?

They only had 4 wins 3 weeks ago and looked like they wouldn’t win again
Now they have a chance to finish in a 3 way tie for the division lead (and lose out on the tie break)

That pick was really the first time Stafford had been fooled in months. His other picks recently were off of errant throws or tipped balls. Like the pick 6 vs Carolina, he just left the ball inside on an out route. The other one tonight was an overthrow. That last pick the DB just tricked him on that one. Don’t see that often.

Our lack of speed on offense showed tonight. Nacua can't do everything. No one besides him can make big plays consistently. How many runs did Williams have tonight that a faster back goes for 40 or 50 yards?

Need more explosiveness on this offense.
