Not sure I want to watch the recording. I missed most of the game, but it was 10-10 when I got to put the game on my phone.

It seems the D has ED, they start soft and hope to get stiff before its to late. The OL is a big time weakness, needs help or lots of reps.
Don't watch the recording.

Stafford hasn't built chemistry with ARob, and that's a head-scratcher given that they had OTA's together. (Anyone have a theory on that one?!?)
My feeling on this is you can emulate the game speed and game conditions only so much, you can't prepare for the nuances of the opposing team's talent and game plan. Maybe even more importantly you won't get your own heart rate and anxiety levels to where they are in real competition with real threats coming at you in a practice scenario. This part will take time, real in-game experience is the fast track

Well, that was ugly.

Last week one, the Packers lost to the Saints 38-3 before shrugging it off and turning in a dominant regular season. Still 16 to go, but yeah - there's a whole lot of shit to get cleaned up there.

.

rams previous opponents in the first game of the regular season with mcvay as head coach.

2017 - colts
2018 - raiders
2019 - panthers
2020 - cowboys
2021 - bears

not a powerhouse among them.

bills were a different kettle of fish for the rams to play first up. rams were still in preseason mode, bills were in kiss arse mode.

still the rams had them at 10-10 at the break. they just ran out of puff for the second half?

.

The good news; we have the best coach(es) in the league and they are madder than us about this.

My take as the game wore on… skipping the preseason gets us to week 1 healthy, but the trade off is rust and conditioning. We appeared to suffer from both.

THAT, and…The 2022 Bills are not the 2021 Bears lead by Andy Dalton. This was going to be a tough game even if we started sharp.

On to week 2!!

Lets go Rams!

OUCH. I somehow missed that. Yikes. I hope the Rams look for some external help at o-line. The in-house options are not good enough IMO.
And he (Bruss) wasn’t looking that good anyway. Most commenters had already put him in the “project” category.

The offensive line could be a work in progress need to make another Austin Corbett trade IMO need a bigger RG although I though Shelton played okay considering the rest of the group.

On the bright side I though Riley Dixon did one hell of a job.

Friday morning and I'm still depressed. Oh well... we had a great year and I'm not gonna vent. Cooper Kupp is all-world but they are gonna kill him if they continue to target him 15 times per game. And Stafford was hit 15 times last night - ouch.

Dixon was great and I left him and Gay out of the good! However I still see the same problems carrying over from preseason which is going to bite us.

The kick coverage stinks. With the exception of the Rochell tackle, we were just slow to get downfield and set up blocks when receiving, awful.

That and the heat in that place looked stifling. Dudes like Aaron Donald who are peak physical condition were profusely sweating during the national anthem already. Am impressed there wasn't a ton of players cramping up during the game. For the first time that strategy may have bit us in the ass but I'd still rather lose week 1 completely healthy than lose a valuable starter during a preseason game. Getting to the Super bowl is a game of attrition.

Earlier this year I posted in some forgotten thread that the Bills were the only team that scared me. And that all roads went thru Buffalo this year. For me this was not an offhand observation. I believe they are a team built to beat a team like the Rams. At no time did I believe this game was a gimme. Nor did I expect it to go down the way it did. I wont comment on the game itself because reading this thread everyone else saw what I saw no need to keep rehashing. With out improvement we beat subpar teams, we will beat good teams by coaching and experience, and we will lose to top tier teams. Time to step back reevaluate and then move forward. Go Rams!

Only 1 game. Cant say there was much to like other than the obvious Cooper Kupp.
That o-line play was pretty weak, but Staff held the ball a little long at times as well.
Alas, "We're on to Cincinnati"

All I can say is, they better use last night as a wake up call. They were clearly the inferior team.
