I appreciate your optimism sir. But when I think about your statement above my thoughts go to the following:

In the world of NFL Football, how easy is going to be (no matter how great of a coach you are) to "make up" for losing a VERY WINNABLE superbowl?

Teams (other than NE) do not get to the superbowl very often. Some teams have NEVER been there. We had an 18 year drought.

In my mind the ONLY way McVay can make up for the terrible offensive game plan during this past superbowl ... is to literally win 2 superbowls over the next 4 seasons, or win the superbowl next year. Other than that, we were there. We had it. 3-3 in the 4th quarter with our defense playing very well.

Damn.

Other than the Patriots.

In the last 20 years only 3 teams have been to more than two SB's, and only a few others have been to one or two.

You are right, there is no guarantee regardless of talent level.

He isn't above criticism.[/QUOT

Brilliant! What insight.
No one is above criticism, including and especially those who come up with gems like “apparently Beliceck did”.

Man- why didn’t I think of that?
The coach who was was McVay’s age when McVay wa born.

Gosh - imagine being beaten by a team with the same HC and QB for 20 years!

That simply should not happen.
Definitely time for a total reset.

SMFH at the total lack of any rational perspective. By otherwise seemingly intelligent people.

Well played. (y)

I don't want to pick a fight.

But.

If you look at my other posts in this thread you will see my perspectives, and thoughts.

And I feel like my perspective is rational.

So go fuck yourself.

This whole premise is a joke.
So let me get this straight, we didn’t know exactly what New England was going to do offensively?
Get it to Edelman.
Late in the game, go to Gronk
Seen this same game plan over and over.
Difference is, they executed when it mattered
Gronk makes the big catch.
And the Rams didn’t make the big play.

No secrets, no surprises. The team who executes best typically wins the game

They're right, though. That's a problem many of us identified. McVay thought he could go strength for strength and beat Belichick. He learned a hard lesson about how wrong he was.

He went full Mike Martz. You never go full-Mike-Martz.
