Yeah it's not my thread it was here long before me. But I think I kind of revived it. Now I'm probably lying the thirst most regular poster in there. Whatever the mods decide is fine with me. I generally just share stuff that is shared with me so no big deal. I spend more time browsing for sports news than new tiddies to post.To those suggesting locking the thread, understand that the thread was opened 11+ years ago and this was the first time there was an issue. So piss off....
I can surely live without the thread, just seems like taking a sledgehammer to kill a mosquito.
I spend 1% of my time on here on that thread.
The other 99% is split between Talking Rams football, Other Sports discussion, Off topic conversation and lying about the 1% in the boobie thread
I have never been on it, however, something must of changed agreed that this was the first incident, but it was multiple and shut down the site for several days and caused a ton of work for @CGI_Ram so IMO, it's more like taking a flyswatter to a mosquito and the decision should be left up to the mods.To those suggesting locking the thread, understand that the thread was opened 11+ years ago and this was the first time there was an issue. That’s interesting. So if you have an image, you can have Google or AI search all sites for that image? As someone who enforces my own copyright, it's actually really easy, Google allows you to upload an images as a search option, showing all sites with the image. And companies operate AI, who are much faster than humans.
That's a legit point but the question is whether CURRENT tracking / identification technology NOW makes it far easier to identify "Copyright Violations" ... and, as a result, the Issue will NOW come-up far more often. To those suggesting locking the thread, understand that the thread was opened 11+ years ago and this was the first time there was an issue. I have never been on it,
Happy it has worked out for you 147 times. Not sure why, I guess I just stick to Rams and college football threads, maybe I need to broaden my horizons.Your loss.
Personally, I found my Future Wife on those threads ... 147 Different times!
There are some broad horizo s there. Even broader in the booty thread.Happy it has worked out for you 147 times. Not sure why, I guess I just stick to Rams and college football threads, maybe I need to broaden my horizons.
Appreciate the good thought but ... unfortunately ... it has NOT worked-out well.Happy it has worked out for you 147 times.
Googles basic version is really easy to use, but not always 100% accurate. You can search the image and add words like your mother's name to narrow down results. That’s interesting. So if you have an image, you can have Google or AI search all sites for that image?
My mother had several of her paintings pirated for sale on ebay and a couple auction sites. I’d like to know more about how that works. In the past, I’ve done searches with her name to find them. But the return is generally full of other crap to sift through.
in that regard I like to quote the great Roger Staubach, when they were comparing his straight lace style to Joe Namath...Roger said: "I like sex as much as Joe does, I just prefer to do it with one woman."I just can not figure-out what to do with my Current Wife.
I believe he said that to Phyllis George. A harmless, throw-away comment today but it received a ton of attention 50 years ago.in that regard I like to quote the great Roger Staubach, when they were comparing his straight lace style to Joe Namath...Roger said: "I like sex as much as Joe does, I just prefer to do it with one woman."
Could the thread not come under copyright 'fair use' exeption for "criticism and review"?To be somewhat clear, any photo or work of art is automatically copyrighted once the photo or piece of art is put to media. In other words, once a picture is taken, the person taking that picture owns it unless it is somehow determined to be public domain.
I’m not sure how the booty or booby threads are any different than any other thread.
We ask that anyone using someone else’s writings (articles) properly cite them. Not sure how we would do that with photos if they have been pulled off of other sources that essentially have already published copyrighted works.
I’m not sure of the specifics of the law but it would seem that if a picture is put up anywhere on the site, it could fall under the same rules - booty or otherwise.
...
I don't understand USA law ...
My guess is that someone (unknowingly) posted a photo that's paywalled or for subscribers only. It's pretty common, and some content creators are more vigilant than others. To be somewhat clear, any photo or work of art is automatically copyrighted once the photo or piece of art is put to media.
