Wouldn't then the take down for pictures goto the picture hosting sites?

Also music companies and bands post their videos to their own accounts and have the right to do so. We then post stuff straight from their accounts.
Are the photos linked to site or uploaded directly? Seems like most are uploaded by a user. It's possible ROD wasn't the only site to receive a notice.

The artist could either remove their video or simply adjust the visibility settings. Like how some videos can only be watched on youtube. It wouldn't require a take down notice.

You're trying to make a picture of a person taken by a person different than a video of people made by people to fit your desire. It is the same thing just a different type of media being shared.

And ROD isn't the only site to get DMCA notices they go out daily to a variety of people and sites.

So let’s all let it go, not jump to conclusions, and before long, you’ll see what the plan is going forward.

Cheers

It's a privilege to have such an internet "home", the impact made by the site being down shows how much we all care.
Kudos to the team who keep this place up and running 365, 24/7

Fit my desire? Little early for that. There's a very clear difference between downloading a photo and then uploading it elsewhere, and clicking the "share" button on a public video hosting site.

Your previous comments also lay out that difference.

"High earning Instagram, tick tick and only fans ladies pay people or places to get their stuff taken down when it's shared outside of their control."

"I generally just share stuff that is shared with me"

"Also music companies and bands post their videos to their own accounts and have the right to do so. We then post stuff straight from their accounts."

But do we have the right to share them? Sorry I just don't understand how these things being the same isn't clear to you.

A lady posts a pic or clip on one of he social media posts. A person then tales that and shares it somewhere else.

A band posts a video then a person takes that and shares it somewhere else.

It's 2 different types of media that are both owned by so.ebody sharinag it without consent on other sites. It's the same thing.

We even saw in the last few election cycles DMCA being used against a politician. The band didn't like this guy using their songs so they hit him with claims and say he did t have the right to share or use them for his own uses.

Ok. Let’s stop arguing the legal issues of copyrights. No one on here is an expert on the subject so let’s get back to arguing about what we ALL are experts on. Y’know… coaching football, playing football, scouting football, and managing pro football teams. :hmm:

I've actually had a friend who received complaints about using songs in the background while making videos and posting them on YouTube and Twitter.

And no not a lawyer but have played one on Saturday nights occasionally.

I’ve heard some of the shit they play for background on videos. I bitch about it all the time.

Not what you’re talking about? My bad.
