I keep scrolling through these threads hoping to see something substantial, but no.
It seems some ROD members still get their news through Western Union telegraphs.
Substantial and Tutu are mutually exclusive.
In total agreement. Sometimes you just have to say fuck the scheme and drafting an exact type of player for it versus just draft the best goddamn player available. St Brown and Collins available with college success at major programs and we draft a 5'8" midget. Wtf we're they thinking. St Brown especially had major college success, couldn't run a 4.4 flat forty, neither did Kupp or Nacua. Last year we pivoted from Bowers and what McVay envisioned as "his" scheme fit type player and just drafted the bpa in Verse, damn that worked out well.Has anyone gone back and looked at the 2021 draft class at WR? I mean, I think we need to take picking Tutu into context.
The only two guys taken after him that were any good were Nico Collins and Amon-Ra St Brown. St Brown was very much like what we already had at WR. Sure, hindsight being 20/20 we should have picked Nico.
Rams wanted speed for the offense after 2020. They attacked it by going after Desean and drafting Tutu. Neither were what they ultimately were hoping for. Baring speed, they were looking for size to attack the X receiver spot with Harris and Skowrenek. They were attacking a position in a weak class.
I think it was an okay to poor swing given the circumstances. Some have speculated that it was a panic move after Eskridge was drafted by Seattle (of course he flamed out).
I suspect that all things being equal, Rams aren't really in the interest of drafting undersized WRs but you go to the draft with the players and needs you have not the players and needs you want.
Damn you Brad Holmes!I looked at that draft again and it was just so so to bad really
Decent picks
Jones - good pick - played well at MLB when his knees held up
Brown III - play well off and on - probably played his best the last 8 games of this year
Skowrenek - good special teamer and hard worker who made some plays (not a bad pick in a 7th round)
Bad pick
Tutu - too small for McVay's scheme - just a bad pick really since he hardly played and we won't go into who the majority of us were calling for at that pick. I will say he did okay when he did play.
Horrible picks
Earnest Brown
Jacob Harris
Robert Rochelle - I was so high on this guy too
And Worthless 7th round picks (but again these are seventh round pick - how often do these work out)
Funk

For once I actually use blue font and you question if I'm making a joke.Brad Holmes was at Detroit for that draft
Or are you saying Damn You since he left the Rams
Oofta.. that's absolutely painful.I looked at that draft again and it was just so so to bad really

I knew you were joking but wanted to know which way was the joke - him leaving or him not doing the picks when other people think he did the picksFor once I actually use blue font and you question if I'm making a joke.
Lol
