In all fairness, no matter what fans have thought of him as a player on the field, that sir is a classy thing to do. What a gent... and after 2 tags, he's not short of a bob or two either ;)

Especially impressive that after initial ‘character concerns’ he eventually became a captain.

Magic of 2017 wouldn’t have happened without him.

2 of my favorite Rams over the last decade are leaving the team and even though I agree with the decisions our FO has made, its still a bit disappointing because I wanted to see those players from the dark ages be a big part of all the winning coming our way
Trumaine Johnson is a tough, smart and competitive guy you can win with. Stay classy and Good luck!

Small school selection who turned out to be one of the Rams better draft picks this decade.

Looking back at his time at Montana and the player he was, he really should've gone earlier in the draft. Credit to Snead, Fisher, and his son Brandon for recognizing Tru's ability and taking a chance on him when other teams didn't.

@SeminoleRam

Please explain why I should "chill"?
I wasnt freaking.

I like Tru. More than most fans. Huge Robert Quinn fan too. Hes one of my favorite players ever in horns. I have talked to both of those guys, .... so yeah, I hoped they could win a SB here, but it didnt work out.
Nothing about that requires any chilling dude.

That was a nice gesture and I wish him well. He's been a good solid contributor at his worst and very, very good at his best.

Appreciation? Not from me. Only reason you're leaving is you want a bigger paycheck. Forgot you made over 16 mil the past two seasons and possibly kept the Rams from signing other decent players?

Don't let the door hit you on the backside on your way out. Rams have better CB's and for cheaper now. Some other team will pay you that huge paycheck you're not worth.

God Bless You Tru ! I would really like to know what the "stumbling block" was to signing him. Hate to lose thos high character guys. My guess, he signs with the Giants & back with JJ.

Ouch. I disagree, ( i believe anyone would leave their job for a 4-5 year guarantee of a giant salary 10-15 mil a year) I understand guarantee is a loose word in NFL contracts, but I can’t blame him one bit for leaving.

He said multiple times he wanted to stay, but of course he wants to make his money while he can because NFL players have a short window and never know when it could suddenly close. He handled himself with class always while here, and could have whined and complained and not shown up while he was tagged but he showed up and played hard. Nothing but respect for Tru, can’t help but wish him the best myself... just my thoughts.

He could have worked out a 4or 5 year deal here too. TruJo views himself a #1 shutdown corner. He's not. Holding out the last two years and getting himself franchised didn't do his teamates any favors and IMHO not something as a fan I appreciate.

He gave us good play for years and was a good person while doing it. I met his mom and aunt at a game in Arizona and they also couldn’t have been nicer. As with all guys that leave us I wish him luck unless we play them.

Best of luck. He's gonna get paid like a #1 DB; whether it's deserved or not, props to him for taking advantage of an open market.

Tru has always been a favorite of mine, he is from Stockton. So I was very excited when the Rams drafted him, it is good to see someone come from where Tru came from and succeed in life. Far too many in this town get involved in drugs and/or gangs and are in and out of jail/prison or end up dead. I wish the best for Tru, unless hes playing the Rams. Now Justin Davis is my only hometown Ram.

What makes more sense with our FO signing Tru to a long term contract knowing they are more than likely going to release him the following year or franchising him? Both sides obviously didn’t come to an agreement for their own reasons but then again that’s why it’s call an agreement. Two sides with similar to opposing but not exact views come together in an accord.
