Defense is underrated and I'm disappointed our rams don't have one. "hey, let's get Stafford the cheapest worst defense in the NFL so he can relive his days in Detroit". I think McVay and Sneed decided that was the way to go this year. Stafford said as long as you back up the brinks truck, I don't care.

He probably would do a 1000 times better in the hybrid role than relying on either Reeder or Rozeboom as one of the linebackers.
Hard to say.
His rep is as a good tackler, so, playing him close to line makes sense.
But, you know......they are all different roles.
Reeder and Rozeboom were good week one. About what we expected after that....although, Reeder has done a better job of hitting gaps overall this year. His clutch tackle on a late 3rd down help the Rams beat the Whiners. A great play.
But, the occasional really nice play can't offset consistent play that is at a back up level.
Neither is terrible.
But, neither is great. They need help from the DL.
The DL has been very effective in generating pressure overall, but, as we know OL are getting to and enveloping those ILB too often.

This is not good news. We really needed to hit on some good F/A's.
White -- toast.
DWill -- just now coming off IR.
JJIII -- IR.
Kam Curl -- ing up into a ball.
Parkinson -- not lighting the world on fire, yet.
Jonah J. -- IR.
Dotson -- a pass pro turnstile, apparently.
Depending on rookies is not a good long-term strat. We needed to hit on some of these vets, and haven't yet. IMO, we need F/A:
- CB's (2)
- WR
- LB (in the worst way, prolly 2)
The most disappointing to me so far is Dotson and Curl.
Dotson may be a nicked up still. His run blocking has been good. His pass pro has not.
Curl has largely been invisible, but, I don't think he's being used how they wanted due to injury.
Jackson is doing what he has done his whole career.....which is get injured. That is a zero surprise.
Parkinson has not been bad. Solid blocker and has made some catches. I would like to see him used down in the RedZone due to his size and the Rams struggles in the RedZone.

Yeah I think stunts in general have been a problem. Which seems like a typical Rams OL early season thing and something I relate to them not playing in games during preseason.

And Dotson hasn't looked like the guy he was prior to being paid, but for now I am giving the dude the benefit of the doubt due to him playing through an injury. Gotta appreciate that.

A couple things.

White has looked like CRAP & has cost The Rams.I don’t know if it’s because there asking to much, but he also made me loss my Chit on his 2nd PI that was in the endzone on 3rd & long.

As far as Dotson goes imo he plays hard & is competing.I lost my chit again that Mcvay didn’t run the ball on the right side w/ Kyren Williams.
—Add What’s up with his HELMET??

Zack Kromer & Ryan Wendell deserve a lot of credit,as well as Snead.

Bruss & Beaux sure are playing well as starters(backups) imo.I like the development.

As William Jefferson Clinton used to say when he was Governor of Arkansas and they were last in Education, there is no where to go but up and soon we will pass Mississippi.

My biggest complaint with Parkinson is that he’s a big man who looks like he doesn’t like contact. That’d be okay if he had decent speed, great hands and great separation but….

Higbee’s return at some point will help the offense.

Yeah I do like Parkinson but he's not ever gonna be a plus receiving threat. He's a solid all-rounder at TE who can do some blocking for you, catch a key pass here and there, etc.

I think if White is just a half step slower at this stage of his career.

I think he would good in a #2 WR coverage roll.

He might settle in once Darius is back.

Fingers crossed.

I know every player/injury/recovery is different but Minnesota TE T.J. Hockenson suffered the same injury (torn ACL and MCL) ... on a similar dirty hit by the same piece of shit Lions' player (Kerby Joseph) ... one month before Higbee's injury; and Hockenson (4 1/2 years younger) has just started to practice.

Hope you're right. Because he's not the only one back there pissing me off. I'm also quite irritated by Durant.

Seems the stunts have been a problem for the Rams forever....but, that is probably all OLs. There is a reason teams use them.
I really like Dotson, hoping to see him get back on track after the bye.

The only player in our secondary I thought was playing up to expectation was John Johnson but he is now on IR. Everyone else has been extremely disappointing.

Very happy we have Darius Williams back in action.

Thing that pisses me off the most is the Vanilla defense.

Didn't like the Raheem approach and like this Shula even less.

Watching the Ravens pisses me off seeing how they completely foil an offense like the Bills by their blitz packages alone.

That type of thing can really help the defensive backfield. I am willing to give up a few big plays to get a QB and offense flustered and to create some game changing turnovers.

Despite the pressure stats being thrown around for our rookies, opposing QB's are way to regularly comfy back there.

Talent wise this defense may be one the worst we have seen in years when you consider the run defense ILB's and DBs. For that reason alone I would scheme up some unconventional shit.

The Rams have very little $$$ invested in this defense.... And it shows. Tre has not been great, but he has not been as bad as that rank suggests, at least to me.

If the young DL could get opposing QB's to the ground more consistently, things would look quite a bit better for the secondary as a whole.

Gee, why even bother pinning them deep if they're getting at least six yards on the ground every time?

I think this is also true. I was a bit surprised to see him benched entirely, rather than letting him play in a more depth role first and seeing how he does vs. lesser calibre WRs.

Not sure if it was mentioned anywhere.

But he was benched today - don't think he played a snap.
