Ramsey is a top 3 talent at his position. Now I agree he’s no choir boy but you do needs some piss & vinegar guys on Def!
The trade is a no brainer he a true shutdown CB and still entering his prime.

Oh, I think within a months time we hear of Ramsey's new deal.

I for one love we are willing to admit mistakes and be proactive on moving them quickly, no matter what

That’s so right, those deals were fair then they both got injuries that you can’t count on.

We wouldn't get 2 first rounders for him now, as he's only got a year left on his contract. So moving him would be a net loss. Most efficient "win" in this scenario would be signing him long term because he has a lot of pride and I don't think he'll quit once he gets paid.

But that said I don't totally disagree and I'll say this... IF you think there is a chance you can't sign him OR that he's a fucking jackass or whatever type of personality you don't like then trade him now yes. Because you can still get something for him. But only the Rams can answer that one.

It’s already been said. He is a DOG!! It’s about getting a deal done. The only reason why I thought the trade was (shocking) bad is The Rams salary cap.

I look at Talib in his prime & Revis in his. Those guys make a big difference. The Rams will have a TOP D” because of RAMsey!!
My concern is Les Snead talking about not franchising player.

WTF— this has me confused now. Tru Johnson FRANCHISED twice ??? I don’t get it.

I Posted TRADE Todd Gurley & it got changed. This is a crazier post. Gurley
was on a decline & a questionable locker room guy.I just saw him go out for a screen & didn’t even look for the ball. Head was not into. His knees are questionable. The Rams offense stunk because of it. His approach to the ball was slow. Skip Pete needed to go as well. No one talks about that. Just about how bad the Offensive Line is.
How he got that contract is beyond me??? Pittsburgh made the right move with Bell & Brown.

The Rams paid Gurley & Cooks. Then Donald & Goff ??? Now RAMsey ???

Cook had to go because The Rams are deep at WR & need a RB. Plus sign RAMsey !!
It is a good problem though to have so much talent. The Cap is what sucks. Demoff pays more money than Stan has in the Bank.

I'm saying that a lot of Jaguars players demanded a trade because of Coughlin. Calais Campbell is one of the most respected D-lineman in the league, and even he demanded a trade. Jacksonville is a cesspool. Don't blame Ramsey for quitting when the whole damn team quit on Coughlin and/or hated his guts. It was not just him, and he wasn't even the first. He just happened to be the most high-profile.

Screenshot (15).png

Again, you use Calais Campbell as an example for Ramsey's behavior. It's fine if a player wants a trade or disagrees with management, but did Calais say he had a hurt foot and couldn't play 5.5 games? Did anybody else? But it's okay for Ramsey to do it? If anybody did this at their jobs would they have one the following week?

Maybe things might be different between us because of backgrounds or experiences but from my experience once some guy taps out like that I don't him at my side or covering my back or anywhere near my team. He's done. Especially considering the gladiator type of environment these guys are in with a dash of over-paid egocentric superiority complex in there as well.

Yes, you can build teams like that because there are 53 players who all have different personalities. Ramsey wants to get paid like the top corner. That's fair.
Nothing wrong with being paid as a top CB if that's what he is but we are paying a QB 36 mill, AD 25 mill, Cooks, Gurley, and Matthews who aren't on the team roughly between 15-25 mill, and we pay about 5-6 other positions top 5 salaries. Not really prudent to add another 20 million plus cap hit in there especially when looking right now we have -6 mill in cap room.

Actions speak louder than words, but they don't beget them. I never said I wanted a losing team. Please don't put words in my mouth.

If I give Ramsey twenty-million-per-year, I'm getting a lockdown cornerback to go along with the best interior lineman since ever. If that doesn't make a better team, I don't know what to tell you, Corbin.

I never said you wanted a losing team, and didn't put words in your mouth. Don't take this personal, just sports talk that's all.

And Ramsey isn't going to quit once he has his millions. With Deion as a mentor? No. Deion only stopped playing once Washington got a washed-up version of him. Why? Because he simply had too much pride to quit, much like Ramsey does.

Apparently you haven't seen the interview with Deion here's an excerpt,

“One thing is that Jalen is a businessman,” Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, who like Ramsey played at Florida State, said on NFL Network. “Secondly, I don’t feel like the Rams are the Rams of old. Thirdly, taxes . . . Taxes in California, the cost of living in California is not feasible to a guy who’s just coming out of Florida. . . I don’t know if this is a situation that’s gonna last over a year. This may be for right now.”
“I wanted to go to Texas,” Sanders said. “No state taxes there, baby.”

Florida has no state income tax. In California, state taxes take 13.3 cents from every dollar earned.

This is his what his 'mentor' will be in his ear telling him to do, pay him 20 mill plus incentive of the 13.3 % to make up the difference in taxes. Mind you this is from the first day of trade and they had already spoken about this. Which means, if we do a deal it's going to be ludicrous with the already crazy contracts we have with Donald and Goff and negative cap now with Gurley and Cooks.

Feel comfortable with Deion as a mentor now? Who know's what he's told Ramsey behind closed doors and for half a year now.

BS!!! Gurley was a STUPID signing!!!
He was still on his rookie contract. The fear was him holding out & not being a team player. Thought is they paid him it would keep him happy. BAD move & not deserved.
When did Donald Holdout ??? Not sure how his contracted worked??
Gurley is no Aaron Donald.

they weren't mistakes when they were healthy.

injuries can make any contract look bad.

once the rams saw they weren't getting value in the contracts they dealt with it immediately.

I don't agree here, Cooks had a concussion history with at least 2 major ones and a few smaller ones by his words in an interview which makes him very susceptible to another one to end his career, while Gurley was given another contract pre SB and playoffs where we didn't want him holding out etc. Transition tags or franchise tags would have been more prudent here.

There is plenty of injury history there.

Honestly that is my favorite part about Ramsey's game.

I hope I am wrong and can laugh at myself years to come but everything about this deal makes me cringe, I bet anything he's wanting 23 millish a year average and a 3 year out or similar which we're like F that.As @Memento pointed out having a AP CB and an AP DT is a dream scenario and a smart one at that, but right now I'm not so sure we can't afford them and think Ramsey might be the wrong player with the wrong attitude. We shall see.

Will see how it all plays out. The thing is you did not like the trade from the start, so it’s just an opinion is all. You make some valid points, but he could help The Rams win a SuperBowl in 2020. I believe in this team & think if
The Rams can get a Pass Rusher in this draft & a stud RB they will be Very tough to beat. Have to a a Kicker as well.

Very very true! Believe me I hope he does help lead us to the SB, or a few for that matter, and I can get shit by you guys from now on for my folly thinking. But SOB, everything about this screams bad juju to me.

However, If you were going to trade for and pay that much money to a player his name and play better reflect each other and the team that traded for him! lol Ramsey, beast as name for a Ram! :ROFLMAO:

I wasn't aware of cooks concussion history. I thought it was only in the superbowl where a dirty shot took him out.

Gurley was paid in 2018, same as cooks.

They both made the contracts look like good investments in 2018. Unfortunately the injuries made the contracts bad in 2019. Shit happens.
