Again, you use Calais Campbell as an example for Ramsey's behavior. It's fine if a player wants a trade or disagrees with management, but did Calais say he had a hurt foot and couldn't play 5.5 games? Did anybody else? But it's okay for Ramsey to do it? If anybody did this at their jobs would they have one the following week?
Maybe things might be different between us because of backgrounds or experiences but from my experience once some guy taps out like that I don't him at my side or covering my back or anywhere near my team. He's done. Especially considering the gladiator type of environment these guys are in with a dash of over-paid egocentric superiority complex in there as well.
Nothing wrong with being paid as a top CB if that's what he is but we are paying a QB 36 mill, AD 25 mill, Cooks, Gurley, and Matthews who aren't on the team roughly between 15-25 mill, and we pay about 5-6 other positions top 5 salaries. Not really prudent to add another 20 million plus cap hit in there especially when looking right now we have -6 mill in cap room.
I never said you wanted a losing team, and didn't put words in your mouth. Don't take this personal, just sports talk that's all.
Apparently you haven't seen the interview with Deion here's an excerpt,
“One thing is that Jalen is a businessman,” Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, who like Ramsey played at Florida State, said on NFL Network. “Secondly, I don’t feel like the Rams are the Rams of old. Thirdly, taxes . . .
Taxes in California, the cost of living in California is not feasible to a guy who’s just coming out of Florida. . . I don’t know if this is a situation that’s gonna last over a year. This may be for right now.”
“I wanted to go to Texas,” Sanders said. “No state taxes there, baby.”
Florida has no state income tax. In California, state taxes take 13.3 cents from every dollar earned.
This is his what his 'mentor' will be in his ear telling him to do, pay him 20 mill plus incentive of the 13.3 % to make up the difference in taxes. Mind you this is from the first day of trade and they had already spoken about this. Which means, if we do a deal it's going to be ludicrous with the already crazy contracts we have with Donald and Goff and negative cap now with Gurley and Cooks.
Feel comfortable with Deion as a mentor now? Who know's what he's told Ramsey behind closed doors and for half a year now.
