Whether you like Evans or not.. he’s your #3 guard. I’m not trading that for a sixth or something and no one is giving you a 5th or higher, imo.

I prefer Anchrum as our #3. That article was from some Cincinnati media author, I don't know if it has any merit, but if we could get anything decent for Evans, I'm all in.

Anchrum wasn’t even active.

Freeing up space could also be about carrying over space to next year. $6 million per year is about what Brian Allen will cost at this point, so maybe the goal is to re-sign Boom, Allen and Corbett to keep the band together.

Personally don't want to trade DJax let him pout and either sit on the roster inactive game days or put on his big boy pants and earn his paycheck on the way to a potential Super Bowl.
You may be right there. The dude pisses me off but our roster looks a lot better with him on it. Even if he's got a little sand in his vagina.

I still prefer what I've seen out of Anchrum over what I've seen from Evans.
I get that, but my point is that he's clearly their #3 guard right now and you don't risk that unless you get something worth it back.

Maybe his agent finds out there's no "better option" out there right now and DJax comes back, tail between his legs?

Well, receiving a draft pick or another player by way of trade would appear to be getting something back.

Something worth it was what I wrote.
And I even wrote earlier what that would look like to me, which is, at least, a 5th rounder.. but probably not even that.
A player that fits a need? Sure!

I'm afraid I don't hold Evans in quite such esteem, I'd be very surprised if the Rams can swing a 5'th for him, although Snead has performed magic in the past. jmo.

Oh, I don't think he's great or anything.. but Anchrum hasn't shown anything either and Evans has actual NFL game experience, quite a bit. That's a huge difference between those two right now and I think they can make do with Evans in a pinch.

After witnessing Evans play during the pre-season games, that presents a very scary scenario. Hopefully our starting OL remains healthy & happy throughout the entire season, play-offs & Super Bowl.

Rookie Ernest Jones.......I'll try & be nice here.....I see nothing that makes me think he can deliver game day. Always late to the party or blocked out away from the party or being run over by the ball carrier for me to take a liking to. Not impressed for any reason.

This didn’t age well. Lol!

But ... you want him to play well ... right?
That should be obvious from any long-time Rams ON DEMAND members......but I am blunt & harsh in my comments so it can be taken differently by many....

I desire & want Jones to be our best ILB'er to the likes of Hacksaw Reynolds! DC Morris needs Jones so very badly to be an excellent defender. Things have not been working out for him with many of his choices outside the DL front five.

I think there are a few posters (and, I do NOT think you are one) who would rather be correct with their opinions and analyses to the Rams' detriment, than be proven incorrect to the Rams' benefit.

I pucker up in terror every time he plays thinking our QB will get killed! The way that he has played I would take a fifth and laugh all of the way to the draft! We might be better with out him.

And if you did, you'd be left with almost no NFL game experience behind your starting guards. I like Anchrum, but he showed some warts in preseason and hasn't beaten Evans out. That should be a red flag in itself. Brewer?
No one is arguing that Evans is a starter, just saying trading your #3 guard for a future late round pick seems sub-optimal if you don't have someone that you're very confident in, like Jones stepping in for Young.
