Well, FWIW, I think Murray is a far superior talent, but if released, maybe coming back home and working under McVay & Kevin O'Connell would benefit him. He just seems not to love the game and I'm not sure the type of leader his is, felt he had talent at UCLA, but was missing the 'IT" factor a QB must have IMHO.

Wolford has "IT" he might not have the arm strength of Rosen or the height, but is scrappy and a leader, although again if Rosen became available and McVay felt good about it, I would be fine with it.
You lost me there. Wolford has the IT factor? Because of what? 1 good game in the AAF? Spunky play in pre-season against accountants and fry cooks?
Rosen played on awful UCLA teams, they gave up 37 points per game his last season, over 31 ppg in his 32 starts. He still had an overall winning record and winning record against top 25 teams.

Lol @ “significantly better team”

The defense was worse than last year while Kyler dealt with the same OLine Rosen did, same old Fitz, CKirk with durability issues, & pretty much rookies everywhere else. While the division was much more daunting.

Not to mention, every game outside of 2 were competitive, while almost half of the losses in ‘18 were over by halftime.
Significantly better yes. The offensive game plan, scheme and fitting to QB strength was light years better, like McVay over Fisher.
Same o-line? Lol. Only thing similar was that the line contained a C, 2 OG and 2 OT.
Oh and yes, a big improvement at QB.
Murray is very talented, never said he wasn’t, and being able to play in virtually the same offense he played in college is a huge improvement.

People write off young QBs, particularly the pocket guys, way too quickly. Rosen has talent, it's just his tendency to question his coaches and act like he's royalty. He has to grow out of that and maybe he has started to who knows.

They also crown mobile QBs way too quickly. Mobile guys offer the ability to slow the rush due to the edge threat and many of the ones who impact the league quickly do so in simplistic reads that allow them to play right out the gate and showcase their talent. But where they start to hit their difficult stretch is after their initial year when the reads and deeper elements of the game start getting pushed on them, and if they don't develop that stuff then eventually the beating they take in using their legs too much catches up to them.

IMO the future of the NFL is moving to the college offenses, where young athletic QBs will be drafted and used like RBs in first term contracts. Rinse, repeat. This will be in answer to the asinine QB second contract cost. Hire a good offensive mind as HC, draft a guy who can move well every two to three years, and spend that money on the rest of your roster.

Rosen had it as bad if not worse than Goff in AZ, and the Miami sitch was even worse

I'm fine with us signing Rosen if McVay likes the kid. But there's no reason to trade for him. Miami has Fitzpatrick and Tua. Are they really going to keep Rosen too?

Dolphins cutting former first-round QB Josh Rosen

Josh Rosen is the odd quarterback out, again.

The Miami Dolphins are waiving the former first-round pick after unsuccessful attempts to trade him the past few days, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported. It's the second time in as many years that Rosen is being jettisoned after a one-season stay with an NFL team. The Arizona Cardinals, who traded up to select the UCLA product No. 10 overall in the 2018 draft, dealt Rosen during the following draft for a second-round pick.

The young QB's time in Miami was technically longer but even less eventful. He made only three starts for the Dolphins last year, all of which Miami lost, and completed just 53.2% of his passes while throwing one touchdown to five interceptions before being benched in favor of Ryan Fitzpatrick. His days in South Beach were numbered once the team selected Tua Tagovailoa in April while retaining the 37-year-old Fitzpatrick.

Rosen did manage to make a bit more money before departing. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero noted the Dolphins already paid the 23-year-old a $1,419,796 roster bonus that was guaranteed on the third day of training camp. If another team claims Rosen off waivers Sunday, he'll have two years and $3,629,694 (all but $90,000 of which is guaranteed) remaining from his rookie deal.

At this point he might prefer surrendering financial security for the freedom of choosing a team. Either way, his options are dwindling.

Would absolutely love to have McVay bring Rosen to compete for QB3 maybe even QB2.

I honestly think McVay could work wonders with him.

No need to trade for him just sign him. I would love it and have been saying he's a perfect fit for this offense for a year.

Well if McVay is interested in him I am sure they are one of the teams he'd jump at. Maybe by now he's starting to realize coaches aren't gonna fucking pander to him and he'll be ready to work and learn.

The Cheats have Rosen's college coach and they need a young QB who isn't Jarrett Stidham . . . ugh. Hope that doesn't happen.
I could see that.

I always get a chuckle out of threads like this. Seems like no matter who gets cut or goes on the trading block, there is always a thread that says we should pick them up. I guess one mans trash really is another man's treasure. By the way, It is a hard no for me, Rosen stinks, and I have never seen him do anything that makes me think he is NFL quality.

I just don’t like his cocky attitude.

Reminds me of Jay Cutler.

All applicants must be able to “Work well with others”.
Cutler without as much arm talent.

Cutler always struck me as Jeff George without George’s arm talent.

Local kid from Torrance, would be great to take a flier on. I'd feel a heck of a lot more comfortable with him on the pine instead of Austin Davis 2.0, aka John Wolford

How much is he making over the next couple of years?

I am a bit shy of the fact that 2 NFL teams have given up on him so quickly.
With his talent? It strikes me as odd.

He's not good. Doesn't see the field. Rushes throws. Isn't accurate. Etc.
