Rather invite back Bortles, at these he can start "for sure" and is a good teammate

Give them Havenstein. That solves the backup QB issue and the cap issue both.

As I've already stated, Rosen has been victimized by stupid FO's and poor coaching. This system actually fits his talents well. His attitude has always been as good as can be expected and he has a very good work ethic. Rosen is what people would call a system QB. All QB's are actually. McVay has built his system around Goff and IMO Rosen is a good scheme fit for this offense.

In both AZ and Miami he was expected to be the savior with precious little around him and in expected to fit an existing offense. Yeah, IMO Rosen would be a better backup QB than the other guys on the roster right now.

Why would we give them a starting RT for a bust of a QB? That's a bad deal. Rosen has negative value.

Been thinking, Rosen is on his rookie contract still for at least 2 years barring his year 5 option.

He has a higher ceiling and talent than anybody on this roster currently Behind Goff. If Goff goes down we are fucked.

Considering the talent at backup QB would you consider trading a pick for Rosen?

Would you trade a 4th-6th for Rosen?
I figure at the very least we could get a 5th for him down the road or a 6th cómp pick at worst case scenario.

yep, sure would.

Not sure what his problem is. He got traded so early but not even Kyler Murray could flourish on that team.

I disagree as Murray made the Cardinals better and Rosen every where he has gone his team has been awful. Once a fluke, twice a pattern, three times a trend.

Rosen had it as bad if not worse than Goff in AZ, and the Miami sitch was even worse

If McVay thinks he can fix him then fine, but I don't think the kid is a winner and yes, he's had it tough, but Ryan Fitzpatrick won games, if the Dolphins stuck with Rosen, they would have won none.

Fitzpatrick lost his first 4 starts with that lousy Miami team, Rosen lost his 3. Sure looked like they were never gonna win a game regardless of who the QB was.
Conversely, Rosen won 3 of 13 games while Murray won only 5 of 16 on a significantly better team.
Again, I wouldn’t trade for him at this point but if released he’d be worth a shot.

Well, FWIW, I think Murray is a far superior talent, but if released, maybe coming back home and working under McVay & Kevin O'Connell would benefit him. He just seems not to love the game and I'm not sure the type of leader his is, felt he had talent at UCLA, but was missing the 'IT" factor a QB must have IMHO.

Wolford has "IT" he might not have the arm strength of Rosen or the height, but is scrappy and a leader, although again if Rosen became available and McVay felt good about it, I would be fine with it.

Vastly superior talent so he maybe he still would be, but pretty much moot so we’ll never know.
Vastly? Don’t know about that. Vastly better offense scheme in 2019 vs 2018 and still only won 5 games where Rosen won 3 in just over 3/4 season.
Which was the point, Murray wouldn’t have been Murray had he played in 18.

Lol @ “significantly better team”

The defense was worse than last year while Kyler dealt with the same OLine Rosen did, same old Fitz, CKirk with durability issues, & pretty much rookies everywhere else. While the division was much more daunting.

Not to mention, every game outside of 2 were competitive, while almost half of the losses in ‘18 were over by halftime.
